I've hiked all the 4000 foot mountains of New Hampshire, often thinking "It might be nice to start from close by, and to have a short drive to a nice place to stay," but this was the first time I gave that idea a try. I chose the Profile Deluxe because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews here, and it was a great choice. We were in the room with two queen-sized beds. This is a large space, and it gave us room to spread out. With a refrigerator and a microwave, we made a quick run to the general store down the road for snacks as well as trail food. After our hike, which started 10 minutes away, it was a short drive back and into the pool. The rooms are immaculate and the hosts are thoughtful and considerate. There are two places for dinner within walking distance and many more within a short drive, and there is a good coffee shop across the road for breakfast. This is the kind of place that people return to over and over, and I look forward to doing that!

We are two hikers who were preparing for an ascent of Mt. Hale whose trailhead is nearby. Profile Deluxe provided us an excellent stay and a wonderful dip in the outdoor pool. Chocolates included. The owner selects the town concerts and we enjoyed this recommendation from him.

My girlfriend and I were in the area for a backpacking trip up Mt. Washington. This place was great! Everything was clean and the hosts made us feel right at home. They even helped us decide where to go for dinner one night, and like their motel the dinner was awesome. Next year we plan on doing a similar trip in the area and I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

The location is central to sites we enjoy. The rooms are well kept. Hospitality is the middle name of the owners!

I have stayed at the Profile Deluxe many times, and will always go back. The rooms are the cleanest of any hotel I have ever visited, and it is very quiet, with comfortable beds, for a great night sleep. I highly recommend this hotel.

Jim & Lisa are wonderful hosts! We tried many other places before we found the Profile Deluxe but now we feel that we've found the best. We've been staying at the Profile for about 6 years straight now & there's no reason to look elsewhere for Lodging in the White Mountains.

My cousin was married 2 weeks ago at the Mount Washington Hotel. When we got the invitation, we assumed that we'd book a room right there for the wedding. That was BEFORE we were told that there is a 2 night minimum stay, and each night was almost $400. I love my cousin dearly, but maybe not more than making part of our mortgage payment that month!

*For the record - I've stayed at my fair share of Rtiz Carltons and Four Seasons, so anything with the word "motel" kind of frightened me.*

We started calling around and researching online. Almost every place we called in the vicinity of Bretton Woods had the same 2 night stay policy. Then I stumbled on the Profile Deluxe (via TripAdvisor) and saw the wonderful reviews. We booked on the spot.

Jim and Lisa Covey are absolutely delightful (Jim has a really interesting history prior to moving to NH), and was so much fun to get to know. The room was spotless, and had everything we could need, including great snacks and tourist-y info. The bed was very comfy, the A/C was quiet, the water pressure was great and everything was perfect. We were flying into the area, and they were helpful in guiding us in that regard to - with info on the airport, and car rental.

There are a million local places to eat, so no worries about finding something great, even if you want to walk there. Jim recommended Monroe's (almost right across the street) for a great breakfast, and he was so right.

And about the one reviewer that complained that they were not treated with respect when hanging out at night outside their room? When you see the place, you'll understand why congregating right outside other guests' windows would be incredibly rude and disruptive. The pool area that they were asked to move their gab-fest to is only about 50 feet away, as opposed to where they preferred to be - mere inches away from the guest rooms. How would that have been an imposition? So, if you let that one inconsiderate person make you think twice about staying here - you've just missed out on a terrific place at a very reasonable cost.

We'll be back!!!!
