My boyfriend and I stayed a night at the Birchwood Inn as part of a weekend to visit a local sugar shack. The place looks unassuming when you drive up, but from the moment we walked in, I felt at home. The owners, Nick and Andrew, are very friendly and helpful, and they also serve traditional English meals that were tasty and comforting. The room itself was great! We stayed in the Cantebury Room, which has a queen bed, lovely bathroom, and little sitting room. It was beautifully decorated, right down to all the details. There also is a communual living room that was pretty, too. I highly recommend the Birchwood Inn to anyone staying in Southern New Hampshire!

This was our 2nd stay at the Birchwood. Nick and Andrew are fabulous innkeepers. We thoroughly enjoyed being there and experiencing everything from the antique accommodations, comfortble bedding, Andrew's culinary dishes, and Nick's fine humor. We feel we have visited old friends. Looking forward to visiting again! Hope they liked the snowman!

The grace and charm of the Birchwood Inn is only exceeded by the gracious hospitality and the wonderful warmth that Nick and Andrew bring to the place. The Inn is from the 1700's and is filled with tons of antiques displayed throughout the rooms. The friendliness shown to the guests and the cuisine, which was second to none, made us feel like we were coming home. You see, we found the Inn on our GPS on our way to Maine. The guys made us feel so welcomed that we couldn't wait to stop on the way home. Of all the places we stopped at on our trip, the Birchwood Inn was by far the BEST thing we did. It was like visiting England and going to Grandmas house at the same time. Keep up the GREAT job guys. We will definitely see you again.

If you are looking for a quiet getaway with classic New England architecture with a flair for the British, this is the place!!!!! The owners couldn't have been more accommodating and attentive. Nick and Trish were gracious hosts and Andrew cooked up excellent traditional British recipes in the kitchen. The intimate tavern made the place a great dining experience. The authenticity of the Birchwood Inn was a flashback in history. The beautiful New Hampshire countryside and the grounds of the Inn made it a perfect choice for fall. Nearby hiking trails including the well acclaimed Mt Mondnanock and picturesque towns such as Peterbourough make this an excellent location as well.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Birchwood Inn. We found the proprietors, Nick and Andrew extremely kind and helpful. The room was attractively decorated, spacious, and very clean. Options were provided for the breakfast and it was well prepared. Nick and Andrew also provided us with brochures and suggestions, which made our stay more enjoyable. We enjoyed our conversations with them, too.

There was also a British tavern located in the inn that was open from Wednesday thru Sunday. Nick and Andrew were able to bring the British pub atmosphere with them from England when they moved to New Hampshire. The tavern had a warm, friendly atmosphere and a great community spirit. We loved the food and the conversations with their friends and neighbors.

We had a great experience there. We'll go back.

This is a beautiful bed and breakfast nestled in the quiet little town of Temple, New Hampshire. It is run by Nick and Andrew from England and their U.S. partner Trish. It is a taste of Old England in New England. Andrew does the cooking and has created a truly English menu. Nick adds the welcoming English atmosphere for the lodging guests and in the London Tavern. Trish is there on the weekends helping in the Tavern and welcoming guests. The Inn offers a selection of beautiful and tastefully designed rooms all themed around great English cities. The building was built in 1775 and is open all year round. Wednesday through Sunday authentic English food and traditional English ales are served in the Tavern. I enjoyed my stay so much that it was very hard to leave. Nick, Andrew and Trish make you feel so welcome that when you leave you feel like you have truly made three new friends that you want to see again. I had never been to this part of our country and it is beautiful. I look forward to visiting again as soon as possible.
