Camped here for a couple of nights this week and took the last site available. Hard place to get a site during the summer and most sites are pretty decent and somewhat private. The lake is not just for the campers as this is a state park and the lot fills up to capacity early on the weekends due to the huge beach area that has picnic tables and play areas for kids as well as kayak rentals, sailboats, hot showers, bathrooms and the clearest water of most lakes. You can go up to your neck and still see your toes. Little or no weeds either, just white sand below your feet. The lake was warm and no lake smell.
The only negative is the noise not being enforced too well after 10pm. Had adult campers that had little consideration for others that gabbed fairly loud until 1am. Rude people you'll find everywhere unfortunately.

“White Lake State Park”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

+ The view from the beach is amazing; my kids played all morning in the shallow, warm lake.
- You have to pay for the showers, but we didn't know that until we got all the way down there. It is quite a hike to the bathrooms / showers (esp. with young children - at times we just drove them). The bathrooms also were quite filthy.

Overall, we had a blast. Our biggest complaint was the condition of the wash facilities. We've camped at Maine state parks and the wash rooms were new and clean. There were also not designated places to wash dishes at WL, so people were coming to the spout near our tent.

“Great family fun.”

White Lake is a great family, or an individual place to relax or have fun swimming, fishing, camping, cooking out, or just sight seeing. Get there early in the summer. The place fills up fast.

“Our favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

White Lake is NH at it's finest, we love it. The view is amazing and the lake is perfect for our family with small children. It is crystal clear with soft sand. The playgrounds are newly redone Nd we love those as well. The camping is not the best in NH though. It is close enou to us for day trips, we go as much as we can.

“Great Family Camping Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2012

I've been going here since I was 5 years old and now 30 years later I'm bringing my 3 year old. The great thing is, it hasn't changed a bit. They have clean showers which is convenience and many locations to fill up water. Camp sites are well maintained and the beach is beautiful. Staff is kind and helpful.

One thing to watch out is a place selling firewood just outside the main entrance on RT16 going north. It is called "Cheap Wood" and they sell it roadside in wheel barrows. I did't heed my brother-in-laws warnings from another year and wasted $10 on wood that was obviously freshly cut and would not burn at all. I wasted a whole night trying to get it lit (and stayed lit) for the kids and recommend you just buy it from the park store and save yourself the headache.
