Just came back from a lovely weekend at the Hilltop Inn. The owners are very warm and friendly and make some of the best pancakes I've ever had! Furthermore, they were very helpful and recommended a great restaurant for dinner and a beautiful hike. It is a great spot for a relaxing weekend away.

We stayed here in June 2010 having picked it by visiting the visitor's centre in Franconia. We were undecided how long we would stay, either two or three nights. In the end we stayed for six! Our room was so comfortable and well furnished, there was tea, coffee and home made cookies available throughout the day along with any soft drinks you wanted. Meri and Mike and their dogs were so welcoming and made you feel at home instantly. The location is stunning and so quiet and a perfect base for exploring the area. We were lucky and saw bears, moose and otters amongst other things. Meri is a chef and her breakfasts were magnificent, with something different every day of our stay. Meri and Mike are both very knowledgeable about the area and there is a comprehensive guide there to the local restaurants with excellent directions printed out. If we are ever in the area again we would certainly stay there again and cannot recommend this establishment highly enough. By the end of our stay, our hosts felt more like friends.

We just 'stumbled' into this B&B prize surfing the internet. For 27 years, the Hern's have opened their lovely New England home to overnight guests hosting a casual atmosphere with beautiful flowers in the yard and Meri's special touch with 'imported' scarecrows. Each comfortable bedroom room is unique with every accommodation. You may be assured of a warm welcome, easy conversation, a great breakfast and knowledge of the local area and its inhabitants. If you have a desire for easy living in the White Mountains, check out the Hilltop Inn, Sugar Hill, NH.

Mari and Michael are your hosts at the Hilltop Inn and immediately make you feel welcome as soon as you enter the door. They have a fabulous house full of interesting nic naks and two beautiful dogs. The rooms are clean and well decorated with attention to detail. The linen is soft and the towels are fluffy. Mari is an excellent cook. When she first served us breakfast I wanted to take a photo of it it was so beautifully presented. Breakfasts are whatever Mari makes for you and you won't be dissappointed. They are excellent hosts, leaving you be but being available for any assistance. Michael is a mine of local information and tips. Pets are welcome but the place still smells fresh and sweet. Plenty of lovely walking trails about or just sit out on the deck or verandah and watch the squirrals come to eat at the bird feeders. Truly a heavenly relaxing place that feels like home.

Charming, quirky inn with every amenity, great food, and the most accommodating hosts imaginable. Decor defies description: dogs (stuffed, carved, painted, two real), cushions, quilts, and oddities everywhere, yet overall sense of comfort without clutter.

I am from Europe/Denmark and I have visited Hilltop Inn twice. Firstctime was in the autumn of 2003 and second time was Thisted spring, in 2010. The location is great for exploring the White Mountains. And the house and the rooms are charming, quaint and great fun. With lots of quilts and weirs stuff! The greatest thing though are the hosts - Mike and Meri. Thet are pleasant, helpful and nice to discuss the state of the Universe with. I am sure I shall be back in less than 7 yeats next time!
