Captain Don's is within walking distance of our beach house, which certainly helps. To be clear, this is NOT a restaurant. It is primarily a place that sells fish bait to people that go on fishing excursions at Eastman's across the street.
That said, they also sell steamers and lobsters. Sadly, Captain Don has passed away within the past year, but when he was around they would steam the steamers for you and cook your lobsters. Now that he is gone, they will sell you steamers but will still cook lobsters.
What I love about the place is that you can stop by in the afternoon and tell them you want to pick up 10 lobsters in the 1.5 to 2 pound range at 6:00 and they'll be ready. Prices are quite reasonable in comparison to the other local 'sit down' places. There's something to be said for just going to Captain Don's, picking up a pile of lobster, and bringing it home to eat in the comfort of your own domicile.
Last time we were there, we got 10 lobsters and about 8 pounds of steamers which we cooked ourselves. The guy at Captain Don's told us just what we needed to do to steam them and they came out great.
