“Italian Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

It is tucked away in a nondescript mini mall, but is more than it seems from the outside. Though a bit pricey, the atmosphere and food are well above average. Our waitress Adrienne, who my daughter was certain was Jenny Dell from NESN, was very attentive. Skip the Olive Garden some time and get a better meal with less waiting on a Saturday night.

“Very enjoyable!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

This attractive restaurant was very busy on Saturday night. After an hour wait, we were seated at a cozy table near the bar. Our waitress was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable with respect to food items and preparation.

We started with a delicious garden salad followed by an artichoke appetizer stuffed with garlic, parsley, olive oil, and Romano and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese - yummy! Our entree was a veal dish with sautéed mushrooms, artichoke hearts and calamata olives ini a sherry cream wine sauce. All was cooked to perfection - a memorable meal!

“Very Disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

My Husband & I have eaten here many times but this time was our last. We both ordered the stuffed pork chop, we order this everytime we go there and it used to be delicious, stuffed with proscuitto and mozzarella and baked. However, It was fried and extremely greasy, oil was pouring out of the chop when you cut into it and there was no proscuitto in it. We both had eaten half of one chop a piece when I asked the waitress, "isnt there suppose to be proscuitto in this?" Her response was "Ya, I'd say something to the chef but he'll tell me its in there" Nothing else was said she promptly brought our bill to us basically telling us she done with us. So when I got home I decided to butterfly the pork chops and this is what was in 2 out of 4 chops. A dime size piece of proscuitto. Sorry but thats not stuffed where I come from. What a joke! I've included a picture so you can understand that proscuitto makes the dish and there wasnt enough, no flavor at all and the pasta was dry and clearly just tossed on the plate. All done with Trattoria Amalfi!

“Our second visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2013

We now live in the area and this will be one of our "go to" restaurants.

On our first visit we ate at a table in the bar as we didn't want to wait 40 minutes for a table. Service and food in the bar were excellent.

Last night (Good Friday) we visited shortly before 5 pm and were immediately seated in the main restaurant in a booth by the window. Same great service and food.

So now we've tried the calamari, ravioli, veal pizzaiola, Italian jambalaya, and shrimp scampi that were all wonderful.

On our first visit for dessert there were some "ice cream balls" that now, a week later, they have dropped from the menu! So sad about that.

Wine is reasonably priced.
