Let me tell you: this place needs to be shut down and address the unhealthy and potentially dangerous issue: if a child stayed in this room and ate the paint chips off the bed and tables: that would make a liable situation.

Made a reservation in January 2017 for a king room in July 2017. Arrived to meet a wonderful nice individual: Erica: she reviewed the accommodations we were given: a small queen room by the elevator and above the hotel entrance on the fourth floor. The paint was peeling from the ceiling over the bed falling down over you during the night and you awake with paint chips on you, the bed and the bedside tables. Discussed this was Brian White the next day and yes I showed him the room and he admitted there was a problem with ceilings on the the top floor rooms. Yes he discounted the room and added extra reward members point to our account. But seriously, is the health of someone more important than renting out to this room for whatever the price even free (which it wasn't)

This is a nice hotel, the free shuttle drive into downtown wonderful. The breakfast the next day wonderful. 24 hr complimentary beverage area in the hotel wonderful. No luggage rack and hair in sink not so great. And the worse: the paint chips coming off the ceiling a real liability.

Beware of staying in a top floor room because your health could be in jeopardy and definitely don't stay there with children.

Thank you for commenting on your recent stay at our hotel. We appreciate you recognizing our helpful staff, the free shuttle drive into downtown, the wonderful breakfast the next day and 24 hour complimentary beverage area in the hotel. The room should not have been in our inventory pending repairs and apologize for the condition. Please know we want your experience to be fantastic from the time you arrive to the time you depart. If there is any opportunity to allow us another chance to have you return, please contact me directly. We want to show that we truly provide much nicer rooms than the room you had received.

We stayed overnight. The staff was helpful. I would definitely use the shuttle to get downtown as parking wasn't easy. The room was clean and comfortable with no visible mold or chemical smells however when I woke up in the morning I had a major chemical/ mold reaction with a very difficult time waking and vertigo. We hadn't been in any other buildings so I can only guess it was something in the room. It took three days for it to go away.

We stayed in this hotel for a 2 day break in the Portsmouth area. The room we were allocated was very spacious and well appointed. The hotel provided a complimentary breakfast and a shuttle into the city centre from 5-11pm. This was very useful for dining in the evening.

Room Tip: If you get a room on the fourth floor you will get the quietest rooms

This hotel is a five star performer in a 4 star category. The Staff could not be friendlier or more accommodating. The property is spotless and the rooms are decent sized. The free shuttle downtown is a real plus. We will be back.

Booked this hotel for four nights so we could see Portsmouth and the surrounding area. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Microwave and fridge in room and free tea and coffee available all day. The hotel was outside Portsmouth but there was a courtesy bus which could take you into the town from 5pm and bringing you back anytime up to 9pm during the week but later at weekend. Breakfast was good in the morning. Friendly staff - fully recommend hotel.
