“Great coffee, nice place”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

We were just walking in the area, and the delicious smell of the coffee called us. A delicious capuccino, very nice staff, and a great place to enjoy.

“Coffee & sweets”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

Very good coffee - all kinds. If they don't have it, you don't want it. Better than Double D's any day. Fresh backed goods to really get the caffeine working. Lets be green, bring a travel mug, they are happy to fill

“Many coffee and Tea Drinks and Pastries as well.”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Stopped by for a Cafe mocha and my daughter got a fancy hot tea which she loved. Cafe Mocha was great also. Though we did not try the pastries they looked great. Nice big place to sit and relax. There were also many tables and chairs outside to enjoy the sites and sounds of Market Square in the center of Portsmouth. Worth a stop by!

“A must cup of coffee”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

This is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee outside along with a flax seed bar. We are hooked on these things. We tried this one night and kept going back every night after to get more.

“The place to be in downtown Portsmouth”
Reviewed August 31, 2012 via mobile

Breaking New Grounds attracts a diverse and friendly crowd who linger inside the cafe and sit outside on the sidewalk tables. Portsmouth's equivalent of a European city square - it creates a nice atmosphere downtown. We always grab coffee here when visiting Portsmouth.
