Massimo's is in a great basement location. Massimo is very friendly and speaks to his patrons. The food, however, is not exceptional. The appetizers and salads were nice, but the entree was not good. I ordered the stuffed chicken breast, which came with risotto. The chicken was dry and the risotto was one of the worst I have ever had. Maybe it was poor ordering on my part.

Excellant food, authentic and well thought out. Pasta appetizer was fantastic could have eaten that all night, Monkfish was over the top and well seasoned with great flavors. Great staff although a little unattentive towards the end of the meal. Host was hoot having a great time at his job.

Booked a reservation over two months ago for a 60th birthday celebration. Called a few days ahead of time to confirm, as this was such a special occasion. Host replied that the restaurant would be closed that day, due to renovations. Promised to make alternate reservations and make good for us at another restaurant. No phone call back....no apology. As we were traveling up from Cape Cod just for dinner, needless to say, we were thoroughly disappointed and had to scramble for another dining venue. For such a supposedly premium dining spot, this was certainly not a very good first impression. Will never return. Ultimately, dined at Mombo, where we enjoyed the best meal in years! All things worked out for the better.

Located in the basement of a 200 year old Customs Building, this restaurant is beautiful. The menu is creative with several unusual dishes. The appetizers were perfect - duck and cold antipasto. My entrée, monkfish saltimbocca, was perfection but my wife's lobster and the lobster risotto was under seasoned. Dessert ( the trio) was too good to describe. Thy have to learn how to make espresso as 75% of the cup was foam. Only other problem was that despite many servers and busboys standing around, the table was not promptly cleared.
Two small issues but enough to annoy the diner.

We have a second home about 45 minutes away in Kennebunkport,ME. I bought a Living Social offer for a seven course tasting meal that we used tonight. What a wonderful TREAT!!!. Every course was wonderful and we loved the atmosphere and the accoustics were great. We will certainly return again. Our favorite courses were the pasta with peas, bacon and egg. I am not a beef eater but ordered the beef tenderloin course as part of the tasting menu and it was just terrific. The service was great and all the wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable.
