We stay here 2 or 3 times a year, always clean and easy check-in. The rooms have always been clean and at a reasonable price, valet parking is only $15.00. The location is great and you are able to walk anywhere to all sites and restaurants in a couple of minutes. Front desk people are very friendly with good local knowledge and a pleasure to deal with. The whole stay was perfect without a glitch. Thank you!

The staff was friendly but other than that disappointing. The location is good, but our room on the 5th floor was musty, did not appear to look like the updated rooms on the web, had a terrible sound that would go off every 10 minutes or so, but maintenance was unable to fix it and they were well aware of the noise, but said it was always like that. It wasn't terrible but disappointing. The services in the dining area were terrible in the morning. We had to go into the kitchen to find wait staff, poured our own coffee and had to go in the kitchen again to find someone to pay our bill. Hilton is one of main hotels we use for work, but I felt that perhaps we were given a bad room because it was not a reservation I had booked through work since it was a friends gathering.

Room Tip: don't stay in room 501 - there's a grinding noise in the bathroom that they're unable to fix since it's coming from some equipment on the roof

I have stayed at this hotel a half dozen times since it was built about 6 or 7 years ago. I have always been amazed at how far the owners of this Hilton Garden Inn went in its design and décor. HGIs are not supposed to have some of the features that this hotel offers and I think the owners have a real winner in this property.

First, valet parking. Yes, maybe this is a little over the top for Portsmouth, NH, but I think it is a nice touch. The attendants are friendly and the service fast.

I was the first of 6 friends to arrive at the hotel. Check-in was convenient and the staff very accommodating in getting our rooms close together.

The rooms were clean and well appointed, what you would expect with a HGI property.

What set this property apart from others that I have stayed at was the lobby. It features sitting areas with fireplaces, a full service bar, a café and lots of space for meeting others or a quiet time reading the local paper.

I really felt like I got a lot for my money at this property.

If you plan to visit Portsmouth, the best place to stay is right in this charming New England town. There are less expensive hotels 2-3 miles outside of the center of town but if you want a really good location where you can forget about driving and enjoy walking, then stay at the Hilton or one of the nearby hotels like the Sheraton or Residence Inn. There is a municipal parking lot across the street from the hotel - 75 cents per hour. Or, you can go for the valet parking for $15 per day. The lobby is well appointed with comfortable seating areas, fireplaces and flat screen TVs throughout. The dining area is large and confortable and the rooms are very nice. When you arrive, just drop off your bags at the entrance and then park your car. You'll enjoy walking around town and visiting the quaint shops, boutiques and restaurants. Go check out the Mediterranean Cafe. Great food.

I stayed here as a change of pace from staying in the Hampton Inn while traveling on an extended project in Portsmouth. Parking was difficult in downtown Portsmouth (I didn't want to pay the $15 parking fee for overnight) - there was limited street parking. The food at the restaurant was pretty good and the gym was decent (typical hotel gym with up to 50 pound dumbbells and a few cardio machines). It is a coin flip between this and the Sheraton which offers similar amenities at a similar price (I'm Hilton Honors Diamond, so I prefer Hilton).
