“One of the VERY BEST Meals Ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

The ambiance as you walk into the library is awesome. Greeted by the golden lions and a wait staff this is attentive and ready to give you one of the best dining experiences!
The meals are served family style with each course having a 'break' in between. All the food you could eat, served beautifully and so tasteful. The baked haddock melted in your mouth, the crab stuffed jumbo shrimp were a beautiful pairing and the prime rib was to die for.
Not only is the atmosphere one of peace and quiet and elegant beauty but the food, and service matches it.
This is perhaps one of the finest meals I've ever had--DEFINETELY DON"T miss this on your trip to NH!

“Great for appetizers and happy hour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

We only had a short time to stay here, so did not eat dinner, but we did have the happy hour lobster mac n cheese, that was out of this world. Great drinks, too. Delightful look throughout the restaurant. Wonderfully maintained and decorated, very relaxing.

“Pleasant and Met Expectations”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

We had a very pleasant dinner. The service was good and the beef was properly cooked. The fish was slightly overcooked. They have a nice selection of wines in both variety and price. The cost was about what we expected.

“Maybe it was an off night ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

.. when we went to the Library, with high expectations generated by one of our party who'd been there before. It's a grand room, dark wood panels, high ceiling, mirrors, books. Service was quick and attentive. I don't eat a lot of red meat, and was looking forward to the prime rib, which was a special that evening. What I got was a slab of tough meat - leathery tough - with little flavor and lots of fat and gristle, surrounded by piles of mashed potatoes and succotash. A dish I would have expected in a diner, not a restaurant with pretensions of being a steakhouse. Disappointing.

“Dinner for Restaurant Week”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

My husband and I went for dinner on the quiet Monday in restaurant week. It was his first visit and he loved the building. I am a local, so the building is an old favorite of mine, right down to the lions we played on as children.
We chose the Library largely because of the menu choices for restaurant week. I had the prime rib and ceasar slad. He had the pork loin and chowder. We both had creme brulee. The food was great, the portions more than generous, and the service excellent!
