“They don't quite have it figured out”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

I have gone twice. It feels like they don't have the gig figured out yet however and the prices are too high. Be prepared the first time - it will be really confusing to read the menu / try to order but they will help you with that.

The flavor of the Cemita is great. Love the Chipotle mayo, avocado and pickled onions.

On the first visit service took too long for my expectations. It looks enough like a fast food joint that you expect the food to come out quickly. The second time it was quicker but they did not put pickled onions on either Cemita. Maybe they were out? Nobody said so. Disappointing.

We ordered the fries with queso fundido on our second trip. The queso was a little too thick / hard to really dip fries into. It was also room temperature (thought it would be warm). And paying $4.20 for 20 - 25 fries in a school lunch cardboard bowl felt like robbery.

The hours it is open are hard to remember. We tried to swing by a couple other times only to find it wasn't open. Inconvenient hours seems pretty risky for a convenience food concept.

The decor is ok. You can see they tried really hard to put some shine on a Taco Bell but its just not quite good enough yet. Maybe its because the floor is disgusting and needs to be retiled.

“Over priced for what you get.”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

The prices are higher than other places and if you don't order more than one sandwich you walk away still hungry. They have been open for 2 weeks and they messed up half of our order.

“Awesome sandwiches!”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

The owners of the restaurant Street on Islington St in Portsmouth bought the old Taco Bell place on Rt 1. Here they sell their cemitas, tacos and salads. The place just opened, so expect changes to the menu.

What the place is like: Inside it's funky colors. We walked in, saw a line (they literally opened two days earlier), but the line moves quick. It's a little chaotic. They deliver to the tables, but there was some confusion here and there. Being new, I'm sure they have many kinks to work out still.

Food: We ordered cemitas. Your sandwich base can be fried or not fried. One got the fried chicken, one got grilled chicken and two got the veggie burgers. You can get it Americanized (according to website), but we went with original. Meaning, chipotle mayo, fried cheese, avocado, pickled onions and cilantro on a sesame seed bun. Very good. The mayo is spicy, but not enough to bring tears to your eyes. We got an order of tater tots with an interesting, slightly peppery ketchup. They were nice and crunchy, and we ended up with a second order of tots with curry sauce, also good, but we didn't order these. Again, new place, some confusion with orders.

The menu is still evolving- there is a kids menu, at least according to website. We didn't have children in the party, but we saw young children in the restaurant. They will have the drive thru window open at some point.

Overall, we plan on going back again. We were pleased with the freshness of the food. Again, they're working out all the little bugs still, so be patient!
