It's good to get a good local beer and food that includes some locally grown ingredients. Friendly atmosphere. Seating is a bit awkward.

“Birthday Celebration Greatness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

A cold December evening turned into something even more memorable than a 60th birthday celebration. At 30, I was at the Heinekin brewery in Amsterdam and still have the Delft china birthday mug. For sixty, I wanted to drink a brew or two with my daughters and wife. we picked Portsmouth Brewery because of the gluten free items and because they brew their own draughts, etc. Well, the character of the space is light, bright and airy but the warmth and pizzaz of our server was dynamic. The old man ordered an amber and a rare cheese burger. The burger was rare and had the big, thick slice of onion requested. Daughter #1 had a huge plate of nachos while daughter #2 enjoyed the spinach salad. My wife had the tuna special, rare seared black pepper crusted tuna. Delicious, each and every item. Dessert was another brew for me and the chocolate cake with ice cream and whipped cream was enormous. No hesitation to recommend this place for effort, service quality of food and nice ambiance. And, I could pick up a birthday souvenir here, too.

“Where the bartenders know your name”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

Our favorite place in Portsmouth to stop in and have a beer or two and possibly a bite to eat. The beer selection is varied and outstanding. There are always introducing new types. My favorites are the high alcohol barley wines and IPA's. As a member of their Royal Pint club I always get a larger portion/bigger glass than is nrmally served. Our favorite bartender Donna knows our tastes and is always quick to suggest a new offering for us to try.

Food is always good. If you are in Portsmouth you have to stop in.

“Nice Place to stop for a bite”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013

We stopped for a quick bite before a meeting. They greeted us right away. The food was very good and filing. If you get a chance to go the salmon sandwich is the best. The atmosphere is great - not too loud and not too quiet.

“Good variety, excellent wait staff and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Met friends and family for a quick lunch. Food and service was so good that we lingered for a few hours talking and drinking. Never felt rushed and our server was fun and interacted with all of us!
Salads were great and burger was huge...would go again for sure next time we are in town
