Our first visit in August of 2010 was a ridiculous experience, but it was the end of the season when college kids / staff go back to school, so we decided to give it another chance last summer (2011). We had purchased season passes on-line before our first visit in 2010, which were good for all of 2011, so we did not pay for admission. Our second visit confirmed that variables like weather make a huge difference - we went on a day that was supposed to be rainy, but turned out beautiful, so the crowds we had experienced on our first visit were much smaller. The park was fully staffed, and all the rides were open, which was also a change for the better. Food was still underwhelming and overpriced, and the park was not very clean, but we actually got to go on a few rides this time.
Water Country has some good slides, but nothing unique. It appears to be a poorly-managed park with some of the more sullen employees we've ever encountered at an "amusement" park. There are better choices, but if you pick the right day, it can be fun for kids, who are largely oblivious to the shortcomings of the park.
