“Second visit was better, but still...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2012

Our first visit in August of 2010 was a ridiculous experience, but it was the end of the season when college kids / staff go back to school, so we decided to give it another chance last summer (2011). We had purchased season passes on-line before our first visit in 2010, which were good for all of 2011, so we did not pay for admission. Our second visit confirmed that variables like weather make a huge difference - we went on a day that was supposed to be rainy, but turned out beautiful, so the crowds we had experienced on our first visit were much smaller. The park was fully staffed, and all the rides were open, which was also a change for the better. Food was still underwhelming and overpriced, and the park was not very clean, but we actually got to go on a few rides this time.

Water Country has some good slides, but nothing unique. It appears to be a poorly-managed park with some of the more sullen employees we've ever encountered at an "amusement" park. There are better choices, but if you pick the right day, it can be fun for kids, who are largely oblivious to the shortcomings of the park.

“Water Country”

nice place to go with the family. My son loves it there however there just are not enough of rides for young children. Although they try to make up for it with the kids area which has the pirate boat and swimming area and a large play area with water canons, slides, sprinklers. Must arrive very early to avoid long lines and bring a cooler with food and drinks.

“Don't Even Bother”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2012

This is on my "to be missed" list while in Portsmouth. It's like any other water park . . . noisy, crowded and not worth the time and money. Why go to a water park when you can be at some of the coasts most stunning beaches in minutes? Don't even bother.
