This was my first trip to Portsmouth for my wife and I and just wanted a good place to relax. The Ale House Inn was the perfect place for that.
I loved the town and you know what sucks about being about 200 yards from the great Portsmouth Brewery (my real main reason for wanting to go to town)? Not a damn thing.
The rooms in the hotel were pretty small but very comfortable and updated. The bathroom was tight but the bed was comfortable, tv selection was wonderful, coffee offered, and above all else- the customer service from the staff was second to none. All questions that I asked were always answered above and beyond what was asked for.
If I could change one thing, it would be the steps needed to get into the hotel but if that is the main complaint, you know its a great place. But I guess since it doesn't have a fitness center, it could be good for some. Location was perfect, staff was great, very clean, comfortable, and like coming home when getting back to the room.
Can't wait to go back, wonderful town and inn.
