We had an upgrade to our room on arrival and big room with kitchenette - very comfortable bed, attractive grounds, nice pool area- private and cool - staff very helpful - complimentary breakfast choices of yogurt, juices, great coffee, breads, etc. Very close to Portsmouth downtown attractions. We spent 6 nights there and will definitely stay again!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back building are quiet - get a kitchenette - well worth the upgrade!

Inn was conveniently located off the highway and just a short drive to downtown Portsmouth. The people who were worked at the front desk were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room itself was updated and clean. Great value!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back would be advisable so you would hear traffic noise.

Great stop along our travels. The rooms are well kept and clean. having a fridge and micro were great. The entire grounds were well cared for as well and the pool it was great as well. The room seems to have been updated and looks good. The only 2 negative's I had was a musty smell in the room when the AC Unit was off. Once it was running it cleared up. The other is the room is small so if more than a couple people were in your group moving around could be a challenge. The common area where breakfast is served is clean and well cared for as well the continental breakfast is just that do not expect anything hot. Its muffins, toast, some fruit and yogurt. The Staff was fantastic. Warm and welcoming and always willing to help. The best meal I had on the East Coast was in this town so look at my review of the Dolphin Stryker.

Room Tip: The rooms are all nice as this is a Motel setting. They are typical throughout. However the rooms facing away from the Main Street may be a little quieter.

We recently spent an evening at the Port Inn and we were pleasantly surprised! Everything was just a short drive from the hotel. The room seemed to have recent updates , the bathroom was updated nicely and was very clean . The tall fridge in the room was a great convenience . Bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked great . When we called the front desk for recommendations the woman at the desk was very helpful and even offered to call us a taxi if needed . The gentleman at the front desk at check in seemed a bit frazzled , however the younger girl who checked us out the next morning was very friendly and helpful. We got a great rate on the room for the area and we would definately recommend this if you are on a budget , far cry from the 400 per night to stay closer to downtown .

We recently spent a night at The Port Inn in Portsmouth. Upon check-in, we were assigned a room toward the front of the property. I wasn't particularly keen on the location of the hotel (it is on a main highway) or the location of the actual room we were assigned to as it was very close to the main road, but overall I can't complain about our stay at this hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was clean, and despite the room being so close to the main road, we were safe and slept just fine.

Bonus points for free parking (in front of our room) and free continental breakfast in the lobby area. We also noticed there was a washer and dryer near the lobby and a vending machine near the pool area...both very convenient, especially if you're traveling with kids.

The hotel is a short drive from downtown Portsmouth.
