found this inn thru trip advisor and travelocity.Reviews were pretty good and price was right.Turned out we liked it so much we stayed an extra night. It's true that the breakfast room is pretty small but in good weather you can go outside to a pleasant sitting area. The room was very clean and king size bed very comfortable.Considering the location close to the hwy it was very quiet.Just a few minutes drive from downtown Portsmouth.Staff was very pleasant.Would definitely stay there again...

There was no storm, but this was a good Port to tuck into for a night while making our way home. My husband and I had a suite with a kitchen (an upgrade). We put together a picnic dinner from the nearby Trader Joes and enjoyed a relaxing evening in before tucking under the covers. The accommodations were comfortable, although the presence on the porch just outside our upper-floor door of a smokers' pole made our non-smoking room less than fresh-smelling; we never even saw anyone smoking, but somehow that odor clings to everything and follows one around. The breakfast area off the lobby is much too small to accommodate guest demand, so you might plan on preparing to carry back your perfunctory continental fare to your room or just hit the road with it. I would not go so far as to call The Port Inn "charming," as others have, but it is a well-kept, reasonably-priced and comfortable "not-chain" motel.

What a great place! We stayed for a night before we ran a half marathon. The staff was fantastic, the breakfast helpful and the room great! We got a great nights sleep for a very affordable price! I would definitely stay here again.

Easy to find, very clean, close to local attractions. Staff was very accommodating, we were traveling with 3 woman, staff upgraded our room to a suite even though we only asked for a room with 2 beds. Would stay here again, and recommend to our family and friends.

This is a charming well run motel that is very conveniently located right off the traffic circle in Portsmouth. The rooms are clean and very comfortable with a homey New England feel. Our room had a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker along with the usual iron/ironing board, hair dryer. Free WIFI and a flat screen TV that comes with HBO plus a desk that made it convenient for us to work gave us everything we could want to keep us comfortable in our room. A nice "Continental" breakfast is included and tea/coffee/hot chocolate along with fruit and cookies are available in the lobby the rest of the time. This motel has a lovely pool and even a bar-b-Q available for your use (complete with all the tools you need). We picked up some steaks and grilled them with friends one night and it was a great break from eating out. We have stayed here often (enjoy the fireplace and cozy seats in the lobby during the winter) and have always been greeted with very friendly and helpful staff and always at a great price. Perfect spot for an extended stay. We love this place!

Room Tip: Our room was right in front and it was fine for the noise level...even with people arriving and leav...

April 8/13
What a nice motel and super friendly staff. Loved the fact that you could drive up to your door. Not many motels left but this one was super clean and the rooms was very spacious. The room had a homey feel about it - we enjoyed our stay and will defiantly stay here again. The breakfast was continental with muffins, bagels, pastries, yogurt, juices, and lots of coffee. Great stay!!!!
