“Great "In-Transit" Overnight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

My only request with the online booking I made through the hotel website was for a quiet room and I was very pleased to receive what was requested. While the bedroom was not spacious, it lacked for nothing and was quite comfortable. The bathroom was not small and had a very large counter around the sink. Inn staff were friendly and welcoming and the continental breakfast in the morning had many items to choose from (english muffins, bagels, donuts, bread, pastries, yogurt, cereal, bananas and apples, etc). The coffee was not very strong, but otherwise--no complaints! Would definitely stay again if "in-transit" through Northern New England.

Room Tip: Room 109 is a bit cramped, but very quiet due to being on an "inside corner".

We stayed here overnight after landing in Boston and wanted a start on our trip the next day. It was a very good place . The welcome was good and we had a room on the front of the Motel but it was not at all noisy. The room was adequately large and very well equipped with all ameneties. The Motel is an easy ride to town where there is an abundant choice of places to eat and we ate at an informal restaurant on the riverside. It was easy to get back on the Highway the next morning after a very nice Continental breakfast in the communal sitting room.
The pool looked very inviting but we did not use as we were short on time. I would highly recommend this Hotel.

My husband and i flew into Boston on a late evening flight then picked up a rental car and started driving to Maine. We got to Portsmouth and decided to pull off for the night. We came across the Port Inn and checked in here. The gentleman at the front desk was lovely. He helped us find a late night restaurant and drew a detailed map for us of downtown Portsmouth. The room was quite comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was a mini kitchen and 2 queen beds. I would certainly stay here again. I believe there was a small breakfast, coffee toast etc but we left early to get to our destination.

We are en route to Nova Scotia via Boston and stopped at the Port Inn for one night before heading off to Camden, Maine. We booked the room (for three ladies) via the Internet way back in April. When we arrived we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite (without asking). What a treat. Lovely beds, a fridge, microwave, a selection of pillows plus super efficient and friendly staff all add up to a perfect stay. Recommended.

We just were here for two nights-Sept 27-28, 2012. Location is very convenient to the two center of Portsmouth. Our room was very clean and neat and confortable. Everyone was very helpful and friendly with suggestions on where to go and what to do. They have a free continental breakfast in a lovely cozy room. We would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: They all looked to be about the same from the outside (we were in 105).

Stayed in a front room facing the highway/parking lot. We were concerned about road noise but it wasn't a factor. We had a good night's sleep, very comfy bed. The room was spotless with updated bath fixtures. The continental breakfast was adequate. Had trouble accessing the free wi-fi. It's just a short drive into town.

We were on a trip across the North East of USA and Canada, taking in the lakes north of Toronto, Michigan, Chicago, and Boston,New Hampshire and Vermont. Prior to taking the trip down from Burlingham, Vt I checked out some reasonably priced places to house our little family in Portsmouth,NH for a couple of days. I found no other place to match the price+quality of this hotel. Staff were friendly and professional, room was ideal (two double beds) and we even had a fridge and cooker (which we didn't use,, as we loved sampling local seafood in 'Surf'). A pleasant stay.
Sometimes the mid-level motels and hotels throw up a nasty suprise or two.. not the Port Inn - delivered exactly what was stated by other guests on Tripadvisor. Please check out my wife's 'stay away' review of Betsy's B&B in Montpellier, VT on the same trip, same price - for the other side of the coin.
There was a small mould problem on the grouting in the bathrooms but apart from that all ok.. Please ignore my service, restaurant and fitness centre ratings.. (why doesn't Tripadvisor have a N/A option)?
