“Not so hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Michelle's is my favorite date night spot. Even though it's right on Market Street, you wouldn't know from looking at it how wonderful it is. It isn't until you get upstairs in the cozy, warm setting that you fall in love.

Food is amazing. Servers are fantastic. Visit soon!

“This man knows how to cook!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

We were fortunate to visit on a rainy Friday night when the place was pretty quiet and felt as though we were dining at someone's home. The 18-oz bone-in ribeye was only $28 and was perfectly cooked -- rare -- as ordered. The wife had the bouillabaisse for $28 that was a massive bowl filled with, ta da, lobster! We savored every bite of each dish. Our server was Michelle (yes, THE Michelle) and her husband is the chef. It was like having a private chef for the evening. We'll definitely be back.

“Potential”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

We visited with local friends who's judgment we trust and who rave about Michelle's. The food was good but not great and we were assured this was an exception. The potential was there, just a little off that night.

“cute little restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

Dinner upstairs was quite nice with a view of the street. Our waiter was excellent as we were under a time crunch. His recommendations concerning what to order and how long it would take to cook were spot on. The food was very good but a bit pricey. There are quite a few interesting dinner choices that are not run of the mill. Michelle's is in a very convenient location to all of the shops. We had no trouble parking on the street (metered parking).

“Great Bar Great Food Great View Great Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

The upstairs bar, small but comfortably designed, is not to be missed. Sitting at a table next to a window, you have an expansive view of Portsmouth, alone worth the price of the food and drink, both of which are excellent. Efficient, pleasant bartenders and staff. Within easy walking distance of the Ale House, shops, parks and the amazing harbor. If you haven't visited Michelle's, you haven't lived.
