We received a recommendation from a local we met on a harbor cruise, so we decided to try The District. When we looked at the menu outside, we also saw that they had gluten free meals on the menu, which was a relief. It was still light out, but just in the cusp of being too cold to eat outside, so we chose to eat inside. The atmosphere on a weeknight leaves something to be desired because it was pretty empty. The decor was fine and the music and lighting were appropriate. We ordered the poutinne appetizer, which was delicious. For dinner, I had the munkfish special and my husband had the chicken breast. We ended up sharing quite a bit because they were both quite tasty. I recommend ordering a "sidecar" starch or vegetable to split though, because the sides listed with the meal are more of a garnish. The prices were reasonable for a nice restaurant in a vacation/tourist town and our server was friendly and attentive without being annoying. If you're looking for a better atmosphere, I suggest going on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night.
