“Best chinese around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

Growing up as a Yorker, I had been a Greenleaves loyal customer but haven't been satisfied for a while now. We are always out and about in Portsmouth, and love trying new places to eat. Finally poped into Pink Bamboo today and I am SO happy I did. Great food, not the artificial chinese taste. Hot, tasty and good. My boyfriend has a bad MSG allergy and after green leaves continuously making him sick, he was scared to eat chinese again. He was "wowed" by the first bite. He got a house special app while I got a soup, great tea, rice and a veggie meal. THe broc in garlic sauce has a punch and is full of flavor. I could go back tonight!
Will def. be back!

“Surprise Hot Pot find turned out very tasty.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

We had beef and vegetable selections and had a bit of spice to our broth. It was fantastic.
Usually in New England area restaurants I have a hard time getting a decent spice level but this time we got it right the first time. The staff were also kind enough to bring more spice and vinegar to punch it up further.

“Take out lacked taste.....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

We just ordered $75 worth of food to try a number of take out items. The house rice had no flavor; the shrimp and cashews was basically celery veg all with shrimp and cashews; beef and broccoli was ok, orange chicken very good, chow Mai foon ok, but again lacked real flavor. Our first attempt at Chineese food on the seacoast, we will try others. Btw, my brother and his wife ate in at the Pink and said it was very good - others have said the same.

Have eaten in several times and enjoyed the food although not as good as when they first opened. Had takeout last night and was disappointed. Pad Thai was mostly noodles with little flavor. Dragon and Phoenix was ok. Fried shrimp were three thin shrimp with veggies. We realize that takeout is not the same as eating in especially when fried food is involved.

“Amazing orange chicken”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

Definitely a pricier, more upscale Chinese restaurant- but if that's what you're looking for, you can't go wrong. I've been there twice, and was impressed with the service, atmosphere, and quality of food both times. Their orange chicken is quite unique and much lighter than the 'norm.' It's the best I've ever had! Start off with their cold sesame noodles- also delicious! Food tastes fresh and is presented beautifully. I'll definitely be back!
