I recently relocated from Connecticut to New Hampshire for a new position within my company. I stayed at this hotel for an extended period of time and can say that this was my favorite hotel I have stayed at! The hotel staff was excellent and extremely courteous. The rooms were very clean and were larger than most hotels that I have stayed at during my business travel.

The location of this hotel is amazing, being only about a minute walk to hundreds of great restaurants. Being able to walk to downtown is always a plus! In addition, the hotel staff always had excellent recommendations for where to have dinner and other excursions.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is visiting Portsmouth for business or pleasure.

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice..,.travelers can always check with the front desk management or check it out online.

We recently went up to the Portsmouth area for a girls weekend. We rented a two bedroom suite for four of us and it was perfect. Staff was helpful. The rooms were large -- we had 2 bedrooms with king sized beds and two baths, plus a living area. The rooms were very clean. We were on the 2nd floor, which was quite warm. We couldn't get the room too cool, but it wasn't unbearably hot. The first floor seemed cooler. Didn't have the breakfast there, but it looked fairly standard for that type of place. The hotel was located right off the highway and it was only a short drive into Portsmouth --- which is a great little town with tons of shops and restaurants. The hotel was right next door to the Red Hook Brewery -- great beer. Agree with another reviewer that the common areas could have used a little updating, but it wasn't a game changer. We would stay here again.

I have stayed here multiple times since the hotel opened in 2010. Every stay has been a pleasure. The rooms are large and clean. The hotel is convenient to major highways and is two blocks from the wonderful downtown area of Portsmouth. The hotel staff is always friendly and accomodating. The complimentary breakfast is fine, especially for a quick meal. The bar in the lobby at night is a nice little "plus" after a long, tiring day.

Parking is across from the hotel in a public lot; price is $.75/hour (approx). Paying for parking is not an issue for me; it is commonplace at so many hotels these days. There was one occasion when I was not able to find a space during the prime dinner hours (7PM-9PM). However, parking spaces did open up later in the evening.

In summary, this is the only place to stay in Portsmouth. I have been in other hotels and none come close to this Residence Inn. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Every room is large and clean with wonderful, well-stocked kitchens.

I stayed at the hotel for over 100 night. Having done a ton of travel all over the world you will not be disappointed by this hotel. The staff is amazing and always looking for ways to make your stay more enjoyable. The rooms are large and provide you with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The hotel has a great bar/lounge area that offers a good selection of drinks hosted by the two best bartenders around Matt and Fay. The hotel offers free breakfast and also free food in the evening. The location of the hotel makes it a perfect place. You can walk to any of the sites in Portsmouth in minutes. The only negative experience I had was with housekeeping. They are very nice people they just don't do a very good job but maybe they are just under staffed? If you are in the area this is the place to stay!

I enjoy residence inns when I have to stay somewhere for a while. It has the comforts of a small apartment as supposed to a small hotel room.
Thee service at check in was great, the only inconvenience was there was no parking included. I coul park on the street for free from 7pm till 9am or use the pay parking lot across the street for 75cents an hour (they do take credit card)

Take note that there is a bit of construction going on as there are businesses going in the lower part of the building. It wasn't a big issue but I could hear them a bit in the early morning.

Love the Portsmouth it is a quaint town with soo much history, great architecture, shops and great restaurants
