Since the master chef, Paula Snow, left Home Hill Inn has slid precipitously. Where the menu under Snow was fresh, innovative, and very satisfying, the new crew has descended into poor taste, a limited menu and average service. This is a real loss.

Since its a bit pricey, we were saving a return visit for a special occasion - Valentines day. We were very happy with our decision to come back. For us the most striking feature was that the vegetarian options were so special; clearly the chef is paying a lot of attention to this and we couldn't be more appreciative. In addition, the service was great, the atmosphere welcoming, and the ambience comfortable. Minor quibbles were the less than stellar dessert and the somewhat dingy main dining room. Altogether, we highly recommend it!

Stayed here for a wedding, and the food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner at the wedding.

Home Hill Inn is the perfect blending of quiet, relaxed, elegance and good taste. The beautiful rural setting on the shore of the Connecticut River is superbly complimented by Chef Paula Snow's masterful combinations of ingredients. She has a magical touch, bringing a freshness to old favorites without resorting to the flamboyant extremes of many modern chefs.

We loved the old Home Hill and it's Relais & Chateau elegance. Since Paula Snow took over as manager and head chef, however, we love it even more. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is hip, and the surroundings are just as gorgeous. Whether you want a romantic meal of several courses or a quick and reasonably priced bite off the tavern menu, this is definitely a place you should check out.

Be sure to check out the occasional nights when the chef presents a different cuisine from a particular country. Lots of fun, lots of food, and very reasonable priced.
