“The Falls in the fall”
Review of Garfield Falls

Ranked #5 of 8 things to do in Pittsburg

Reviewed October 9, 2013

We were here in early Oct. on a fairly sunny late morning. The long drive in on the gravel roads was full of color and thankfully lacking in any traffic. The hike to the falls was very pleasant. We had our boots and hiking sticks which were very helpful on the steep parts. It was a relatively short hike with very enjoyable views at the end. Some wooden steps in a couple sections were a great assistance to this out-of-shape senior citizen!. Would love to see it raging in the spring!

You have to hike down to the falls but once you get there it is so worth it. I really cant say to much because you need to experence it for your self.

The hike into Garfield Falls was easy and well worth it when you reach the Falls. The water was crystal clear and cool. I didn't swim in the water, but I hear it is a local favorite.

Garfield falls is a fabulous spot. It is a short hike, although could be steep for some folks. It only took about 7 minutes from the road. We did this with two 7 year old boys, they said it was the best part of the trip. They wanted to stay and play in the water all day. Be sure to bring your water shoes and swimsuit. This would have been a better stop after Magalloway. That way we could have cooled off in the water.

We first hiked up Magallaway to the fire tower and then made our way to the falls which were quite wild! The drive in is an adventure on it's own.
