“great stop for something special”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

I adore this shop for all their little odds and ends of specialty items from imported olive oils to Lake Champlain chocolates...you'll find something for everyone here that appreciates quality food items. I tend to come here around Christmas time to find the little extra 'somethings' for people.

“Twelve Pine for the 12 o'clock food”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Twelve Pine has consistently excellent lunch food. You give your order to a food prep person then pay at the cashier. There are tables at one end and outside. So it is not a restaurant per se, no waitress service, but a place where you can order and then take out or eat in. We use it for lunch fixings for the long drives back home. Loved the Reuben I had recently-- it tasted great 100 miles away in a moving car. The chicken salad with condiments and green bean salad were excellent too. There are lots of desserts, and bottles of wine for sale too.

Next door is the Toadstool bookshop, an old fashioned independent book seller with an large inventory of new and used books.

“The food is always good but really, really pricey”
Reviewed March 26, 2012

I can never figure out how I'm supposed to order lunch in this place...who do I talk to, how does it work, where do I pay...and the staff are awkward and don't really communicate well. But I'm never dissatisfied with quality of food (even though it's way overpriced). Ask them to order Tate's chocolate chip cookies in Gluten free as well!

“Deli/bakery/food shop”
Reviewed February 16, 2012

A little on the hoity toity side, but thats Peterborough for you. You can get great sandwiches, salads, meals to eat there or to go...there's outdoor seating. But we're talking unique food...all very very tasty. The gift shop area is a little weak, typical Stonewall Farms stuff that you can get at any gift shop, but the food is what you go here for anyway. A little pricey.

“Great food, great location, minor flaws”
Reviewed February 7, 2012

First of all, I eat here all the time and I encourage everyone who visits to do so. Generally, everything they offer from the deli case is great, they make very respectable wraps and panini, and there are plenty of interesting pantry items in the store.

Minor quibble...when business gets busy, the line gets a little jammed up. The employees are all nice people, but they're mostly high school kids and very young professionals. When the orders are flying in, it gets a bit chaotic (and claustrophobic). They could stand to streamline their workflow and job responsibilities a little bit. But nothing to make me discourage anyone from going!
