“Beautiful New Hampshire Lake Property”
Reviewed July 18, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We were a group of 10 adults and six children ranging in age from 2 to 10. Ossipee Lake House was a very large house with plenty of room to accommodate everyone comfortably. The master bedroom was very large with it's own bathroom, shower and tub. There were a total of 4 bathrooms. The great room was very large with a dining table that could seat 12 easily. With its high ceiling and fans it was very open with plenty of space for watching TV or reading. The TV was well equipped with cable.
The deck was huge and the view of the mountains just beautiful - since the sun sets in the back we were treated to some gorgeous sunsets.
The kitchen was very well equipped with a breakfast bar for extra seating. Lots of cabinet space as well. Off of the deck there was an enclosed porch area with a grill so you could cook if it was raining.
The swimming area was great for the kids as it was only about knee deep for over 100 yards at least. - sandy bottom too. There is a moor for a boat if you rent one.
The only drawback was no dock or rowboat/canoe. If you wanted to canoe you had to go to the marina and rent. This property would be ideal for a large family reunion.

Thank you for your kind words. Your extended family's experiences match what we have experienced for 17 years -- lots of room for everyone, wonderful views, and spectacular fun in the water with the smooth sandy lake bottom. We are delighted to share our lake house with wonderful families such as yours.

We have considered a dock but with such an easy walk through the water to our mooring it just seems too neat to talk (and grin) about strolling out to the boat along the sandy lake bottom through knee-deep water. We get comments about how cool it is to walk out to our mooring from the shore rather than getting in a boat and rowing out to the mooring.

Having canoed on the main lake where Ossipee Lake House is located as well as on some of the waterways adjoining the main lake I can confirm that it is great fun and very relaxing. I apologize for any inconveince that not having on-site canoes or boats may have caused. We are fortunate to have two nearby marinas, one being about a 10 minute walk down the road and through the forest (or about a 3 minute drive) where boats of all kinds may be rented, including kayaks and canoes as well as as stand up paddle boards, pontoon boats and ski boats (with optional pull-behind tubes and water skis). Your observation that we do not provide canoes or other watercraft reflects the widely diverse interests of our guests that range from canoes to ski boats to hiking through nearby forests and up mountains. Rather than attempting to provide equipment to suit our guests' wide interests we provide extensive information on our web site about how to pursue the many recreation opportunities available, including where to rent canoes and other watercraft as well as canoe/kayak trip maps, hiking trails, and places to bike.

Again, thank you for your thoughtful review. We are delighted that you made Ossipee Lake House part of your vacation plans.
