but I don't think we would return. While the service was fine, the food was just OK, and the signature dish, crabcakes were well, not that great. Not very crabby, and mostly filler. When I think crabcake, I think crab, if you're of like mind, then these will disappoint you. We also tried the chicken lettuce wraps, which were just plain odd. I guess we were expecting the traditional Asian style wraps, and these were not. A few pieces of oddly textured chicken and alot (I mean alot) of lettuce wraps. The other dishes were so unmemorable, that I can't even recall enough to write here.

As another reviewer mentioned, there was somebody playing live music on the outdoor deck, which could have been a nice touch, but it was just too loud, and a bit too intrusive to our meal.

It would be nice to see this work out as the location is nice, and it would be good to have another dining option in North Hampton, but there are some kinks that need to be resolved first before I can recommend this restaurant. They are new, and hopefully will improve.

Relatively newly opened. The first thing I would say is do go when they have a singer performing-dining room is much too small for live music. Was overpowering & was a large detraction from the experience. Stopped in for dinner @ 5:30 on a Sunday. There were only 2 other tables occupied when we arrived. Service was very good. Limited but varied menu. Order taken, drinks served promptly. Food arrived after acceptable wait. Crab cake-specialty of the house- ($8.50)was burned on the bottom. Fish & pork tacos ($4.75 $5.00) were relatively rather small for the price but well prepared. Cannoli was above average. Might return in a while to see if it has shaken out the 'opening' issues.

With a name like Newburyport Crab Cake Company we couldn't wait for it to open. The new outside deck looked very inviting and it's where we chose to dine - we weren't disappointed. Our server was friendly, engaging, and attentive to our requests and needs.the menu was interesting and eclectic - so many wonderful choices. We stayed on course and ordered the crab cake entre - two crab cakes, hand cut French fries and cole slaw well presented in a basket. The crab cakes came with a delicious aioli sauce and the French fries were awesomely delicious. The crab cakes were not conventional but incredibly delicious. The cole slaw was not dressed which was my only drawback - I would suggest a light dressing be added.
The friendly atmosphere of staff, chef/owner, and patrons was a hit for us - we and our neighborhood members will definitely be back more times this summer. I can't wait to try the Lobster Pod the next time.
