“Good Hotel - well located”
Reviewed February 7, 2012

Good hotel and well located, especially for shopping!! Lovely big rooms, which makes a change when skiing..We had a jacuzzi in ours, a steal at an extraq £80 for the week...Luxury... Well thought of hotel for active holidays both winter and summer..Really good outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi, though be brave running out in snow before getting in to the lovely heated water.. A wood fire pit burning nearby...Breakfast bit sketchy, some days better than others, with a lovely waitress (who i didnt get name of but has a bob haircut!!) However, not impressed with the restaurant in the vening, plastic food and waitress in a rush, we ended up the only ones using the place all night!!! too many good restaurants in town i am afraid...who was very helpful and so polite, but there again all Conway people are.. Loved the area and loved the people. So much we are booking to go back to North conway next year... The shopping out lets are a bonus and the hubby loved the Hilfiger store, couldnt get him out of it....
All in all very well central to all ski resorts, Cranmore, Loone, Wild Cat to mention a few...
hot Choclate, cider and cookies every day 4/6pm...

Room Tip: Try for a jacuzzi room 4th floor...

Just returned from a skiing trip to New Hampshire USA. Stayed at the Grand Hotel for 11 night - 21 Jan to 1st Feb. We had a very enjoyable stay and could not find fault at any level with both staff and accomodation. The hotel was very well maintained. The rooms were large enough to accomodate a family. New installed HD flat screened TVs were in situ and the rooms were kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping. staff. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and gave good advice on what to do to pass the time on "no ski" days. Breakfast was buffet style and generous. Also, Cookies and hot cider/chocolate for apres ski. Hotel is adjacent to Settlers Green OUtlet shopping mall, so great for retail therapy ! All in all we had a lovely relaxing stay.

I would like to add that any UK visitors who may be skiing in the area would need to choose their lift pass carefully. Ours covered the 5 mountains of Cranmore, Cannon, Loon, Wildcat and Waterville. However, depending on where you stay, at least 2 of these will be too far away to travel to. Might be better just to buy lift passes as and when you decide which mountains to ski.

Room Tip: Ask foir a room on one of the upper floors to get a good few of the mountains.

I stayed in this hotel in the beginning of june 2011 together with my wife and two kids. We rented a room with 2 double queens. We all had a wonderful time. It's a "grand hotel" in any meaning possible. The inside pool is large and clean just like the outside pool. Dinner in the hotel is very good, as well as the breakfast. Staff is very competent and friendly. The outlet shopping mall will save you a lot of money if you can spare the time to take a look. I would recommend this hotel a 100%!

The north conway grand hotel is an excellent home base for a ski weekend. We checked in to the hotel early and there was complimentary hot cocoa in the lobby and homemade chocolate chip cookies waiting for guests checking in that afternoon and returning from a day on the slopes. Nice touch. The guest rooms are large and modern. I also really liked that they had a lounge where you could get a good cold draft beer, a truly great burger and watch the playoff games on a big hd tv. My wife was in heaven at the outlets. She shopped for everything she needed and in my opinion some things she didn't. It was so convenient. Don't even think of getting in your car, just walk out the back door of the hotel and you are in the middle of the outlets---great! The hotel has a heated outdoor pool and hot tub and we hung out in there for hours. It was quite an experience hanging out there while it was totally cold outside. The breakfast at the hotel is a buffet, but you can get a la carte items if you would like too. I went with the buffet because it has everything, is fresh and well presented--eggs benedict, pancakes, two types of eggs, make your own waffles...you get the point. Much nicer than the typical spartan breakfast at hotels today. We would definitely stay again. Friendly staff, great location and amenities.

Room Tip: Bring a bathing suit or buy one for a deal at the outlets because the outdoor pool and jacuzzi are w...

Awesome hotel. Full service rather than limited service---meaning full breakfast and dinner, bar with food...Unbelievably good location at the Settler's Green Outlets. We did all of our family shopping while there had fun and saved a bundle. The rooms are large and well appointed-big flat screen tv, dvd players with free library of movies available at the front desk. The on site amenities blew away the competition. We have stayed at a lot of other places in the Mount Washington Valley over the years and this is the only one with a big indoor pool and hot tub, outdoor year round pool and hot tub, exercise room with modern equipment that you can actually get a good work out using, movie room etc..We got adjoining rooms, which the lady at the desk said they have a bunch of, which was really great- like a suite so our kids could have their own room next to ours. They also had discounted ski tickets available at the front desk so you could save money and avoid the hastle at the slopes. The hotel was clean and modern. Really the only full service modern hotel that we have experienced in the area--think Marriott or Hilton but with a modern northern ski slope design. Maybe the nicing thing which surprised us too is that we actually paid less than the price they were asking at nearby hotels that were not as well located and did not have nearly as many amenities. The lady at the desk said the prices were meant to encourage repeat business which helps the hotel save money ovre time, and the fact that the hotel does not pay for a brand. It will definitely make us regulars. The only bad thing that couldn't be helped was that there wasn't as much snow as we would have liked. The mountains were actually great, but no cross country skiing or snow mobiling on this visit. Maybe next time!!!

Room Tip: the adjoining rooms were great for a family because one room has a king bed and the other has two qu...

My husband & I took our 19 yr. old daughter and 5 nieces & nephews, ages 15-7, to the NCGH for an overnight trip to North Conway on 12/10/11 and it was perfect in everyway.

We got 2 rooms, the suite for the 5 girls and a regular room for the 3 guys and there really was nothing I could complain about. My husband and I have done some traveling and yes, we do have expectations of what we should get for what we pay for, so for "reviews" sake I will say 2 things that stand out in my mind as negatives, but, really, it wasn't that big of a deal.

The first thing is that for the size of the suite with the beautiful cathedral ceilings I would agree with other reviewers that the bathroom was pretty darn small. But, when you think about it, it's not like that truly matters because we were there to spend time with the kids and not be in the bathroom.

The second thing is when I walked into the bedroom part of the suite the bedspread looked like someone or something had been on it. Again, not a big deal, but when you walk into a clean place you expect that things will be in place.

So, you see those 2 things are not big deals and the pros outweigh them by far. The free hot chocolate & cookies in the foyer in the afternoon were a big hit with the kids, the outlet which is steps away from the hotel was a huge hit with our daughter and oldest niece and the heated outdoor pool & jacuzzi was absolutely just right for everyone. we stayed in there for a long time and everyone had the best time. At night we went back in, and yes, it was really cold out but the water was heated to a perfect temp and we didn't get "wrinkly" from staying in too long. The firepit was an added pleasure as we sat by it after getting out of the pool.

The front desk folks were so nice and made us feel right at home. If you get the chance to go to this hotel I would say "do it" and have fun.
