We needed a room for a night and stopped here on a whim. The lobby was filled taxidermy animals ~ it looked like a hunting lodge ~ kinda funky. The gal at the front desk was fast and friendly. Booked a room away from the traffic ~ clean and comfy. Went for a soak in the hot tub and hubby went to the small workout area to do some yoga. Ate at a little Italian place the front desk told us about ~ it didn't look like much from the outside but the food was really good. Overall we were content and would go back. We rather enjoyed hunting "lodge"~lobby atmosphere. Good value.

Room Tip: I would book a room in the back away from the traffic.

Set back from a dark section of road 4 miles north of the famous Kancamagus Highway,
, this is a great place to arrive at after a long day's travel. They greet you with tasty cloudy apple juice and donuts and there is unlimited coffee available. The entrance lobby looks like a baronial hunting lodge - with elk and moose heads on the wall; and a stuffed mountain lion hovers over a vintage jaloppy driven by a stuffed black bear.. The lobby is the best place to sit as your room may be a tad too cold in the evening; there is also not much hanging space for you to unpack onto, though on cold nights you might want to wear everything you've got - because except for the grill across the busy night traffic filled road, you have a long walk to find another place to eat - unless you fancy the numerous burger and fries joints on your side of the highway, crowded with the Dads taking out the wife's kids between 7 and 9. ..

Room Tip: We did OK as my wife is disabled the walls seem to be badly sound proofed but if you arrive exhausted as we did noise won't bother you

Stayed here for 1 night on a tour through anew England. The Green Granite was a good solid hotel - perfect or those looking for a little comfort after a day in the hills / hiking / fishing etc

Great refreshments on arrival including cider, donuts and hot drinks - hot drinks were available 24hrs which was great. Breakfast was all included - a continental buffet style but good enough to set you up for the day.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and willing to help, provide advice or take care of any issues you might have.

(On subject of temp. which people have raised) Our room was initially cold (on arrival) but we cranked the heat up whilst we went to local shopping outlet and by the time we came back it was nice and toasty!

A great little stop off hotel!

This hotel is full of character and was clean enough but cold do with an update in the rooms. One night was enough. Handy for travel to the White Mountains. Good shopping areas within easy walking distance and would highly recommend the Black Cap Grill across the road. The staff here as with the hotel were very friendly and he food was lovely. Breakfast at the hotel was a new experience for me ......paper plates, plastic cutlery etc but he food was free enough and there was enough choice.

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night while on a newmarket holidays coach tour of New England. The staff could not do enough to ensure our stay was enjoyable. They provided a reception when we arrived with drinks and refreshments. There was always free hot drinks available and also free use of a PC for those of us who wanted to stay in touch with family and friends. Complimentary buffet breakfast was most substantial with plenty of choice. It was a little out of town but this was not a problem as we were only passing thorough. I would have liked to have had time to explore the town and used the hotel pool but time did not allow for it. The shopping outlet satisfied the need for retail therapy.
