“Older and been around since the mid 70s”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2014

We have been staying at Fox Ridge since the weekend it opened, on summer vacations and ski vacations we have found it clean and the folks are typical New England "great folks" very close to everything in North Conway and the Northern Kingdom..As I said it's mid 70s very little has been done but the food is great and not expensive at all..

Room Tip: You want to face the pool area with a view of the Mountains.. It's well off Rt. 16 therefore th...

Loved to hear that you were here on opening weekend. Where does time go? Glad you had a nice stay. Nice recommendation to get the Mountain View rooms they are some of the best views in the Mount Washington Valley. Look forward to your return visit.
Thank you,

Reserved the Family Alcove room online for 4 adults/1 teenager. Upon arrival, discovered the 2-twin bed alcove was too tight for our teenager & adult (perfect for small children, but not really suitable for our "big" kids who like their space), so we returned to front desk to request a room change. Lillian at the front desk was gracious and more than accommodating. She found an available loft room, but it wasn't yet ready for occupancy. As we gathered our luggage and prepared to wait, Lillian called us and told us that she could upgrade us to a mountain view suite immediately (no wait). This room was perfect - much more than we expected, with plenty of space. Two queen beds, 2 twin beds in an upstairs loft, and an extra attached kitchen area with a pull-out sofabed. Lillian went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and we were very grateful. All the staff here are fantastic. Very friendly, very pleasant, hard working and efficient. Hotel is clean and grounds are beautiful. Didn't use the indoor pool, but enjoyed the mini-golf and the outdoor pool with the afternoon poolside popsicles. Teenager took the free shuttle bus to the Kahuna Laguna waterpark at the sister hotel down the street, and loved it. He even talked Mom (me) into joining him one day, enticing me with the fact that there is a 25-person jacuzzi in the waterpark! Great place for the adults to hang out while the kids enjoy the waterslides. Breakfast buffet was a highlight - good variety of items, something for everyone. Very busy and noisy, but buffet attendants were fabulous - constantly moving to keep tables clean and guests happy. Dawn in particular took great care of us every morning - she is a gem! We actually remembered her from a previous stay. She greeted us every morning and made sure we were well taken care of. The staff here is the primary reason we return to Fox RIdge every time we visit North Conway.

Thank you so much for a wonderful review. You are spot on when you say Lillian and the front desk team are very friendly, very pleasant hard working and efficient. Great to hear that you enjoyed the Water Park. And you're right Dawn is a gem this is her fourth year with us and we love her. Hope you enjoy these last few days of summer.

My family and I went to this resort for a few days to celebrate the 4th of July. We all liked the resort. While I agree with some of the other reviewers in that it could use some updating, it was totally clean. The grounds were also beautiful. The buffet breakfast was basic but we are there every morning of our stay and we all agreed it was good-bacon, sausage, eggs, pan cakes, etc. We would stay there again!!

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. It's hard to believe that summer is almost over. Please think about coming up for the Beautiful fall foliage colors and possibly the Fryeburg Fair. Look forward to your next visit.

Excellent staff, Beautifully landscaped, 2 pools, Frisbee golf (nice touch), mini golf, fire pit, free breakfast (busy with lots of kids but plenty of food).
Free wi fi.
Room was large but loft had a really low ceiling. Clean but need updating. Beds comfortable and the room was quiet even with so many kids in the hotel. Good location.

Thank you so much for all the kind words. Our Frisbee golf has been a huge hit with families and couples alike, the views are the best in the valley. Great to hear the staff was excellent and that you use the pools and amenities. Please enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer.

The property looked inviting upon arrival but I was disappointed with the room as for the price expecting a little more than a "dated' room. It seems like I went back 20 years with what was offered. It was clean and stocked with needed supplies. TV was old style which seemed to go with the bed, fixtures and décor.
The breakfast that is included was great. We did on our second day wait quite a while for a table which was probably bad timing on our part.
The weather was cool and rainy so we never did get to enjoy the outdoor pool and grounds that included disc golf as well as miniature golf. We didn't make it to the indoor pool as it seemed a bit crowded. There is a fee of $10 per day charged for these amenities that I think include their sister property Kahuna Laguna. I would have liked to have the option of paying for the fee depending upon use seeing we paid nearly $200 a night anyway.
While I had little interaction with staff, the ones that I encountered were helpful and friendly.
Overall if I was with younger children it might have been the place to stay but I felt it was overpriced for what I expected.

We stayed here for 1 night prior to heading to Storyland. Very clean and lots to do for kids. 2 pools (indoor and outdoor). They offered popcicles for the kids at the pool and had activities planned (which sadly, ended on account of rain). Very close to shopping in North Conway and not far from Storyland with wonderful views!

Sounds like you had a fun filled stay. Our pools are so relaxing with the mountain views. And being so close to Storyland and the outlet shopping is such a treat. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

We checked into a basic room for a one night stay and after inspecting the room we moved to another hotel. Upon entering we were hit by a terrible smell that even our kids commented on. We checked the beds and found dirty linens (hair), a dead bug under the mattress, a mouldy peanut and a spider. Totally unacceptable! The management was cooperative and refunded our money. The hotel is in a great location but needs a major investment to bring it up to date. We immediately called around and found a beautiful room at the White Mountain Resort for less money and spotless.
