Description: The restaurant at the 1785 Inn is located in a historic building overlooking famous mountain scenery (the 7th most photographed nature scene in the U.S.) A travel guide newsletter recently called it "One of the top 15 views in the world from a hotel or inn." All meals are cooked to order with the freshest possible ingredients (in spring/summer/fall the vegetables & herbs come from their own gardens or local farms). The service is friendly and the wine list is extensive (has received the "Award of Excellence" for 25 consecutive years from the Wine Spectator magazine). The desserts are all made at the Inn (including some that are flambed tableside). The critics have called it "an amazing value" and "the best place to stay or eat in North Conway." A relaxing luonge is also avilable for drinks, some lighter food, or one of their desserts.

“A Special Place for Dinner and a Night....”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

The 1785 Inn provides a first class memorable experience. The rooms are clean and many have mountain views. Charley and Becky Mallar , your hosts, have proportioned their numerous skills to provide their guests with a special experience whether for dinner and or an overnight stay. The Inn has a nice swimming pool and in the winter direct access to a beautiful network of cross country or snowshoe trails. The Inn is close to by out of the hubbub of North Conway's numerous shopping and outdoor amenities.

“Nice Location/View”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

We have been to this restaurant twice. Both times were excellant. Food and service was top notch. Views are unreal. Prices for fine dining was in order. Best for couples due to prices. Have some unique entree's.

“Super Restaurant”
Reviewed March 12, 2012

We had an exceptional dinner here. The service was excellent (Bill the waiter!) as was the food. Drinks were generous. Spouse had the seafood special, another had veal, I had beef, all excellent. Shouldn't have had dessert - too full - but who can resist cream puffs. Put this on the top of your list for special occassions.

“Great Menu but terrible food!”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

Although the menu looked divine, the food was terrible. If you like to have your drinks flaming, this is a great place for you but if you actually like to eat good food--food that is tasty and not over salted and dried out, then avoid this place like the plague!

“Fireside Dining - Excellent Food and Service”
Reviewed February 16, 2012

Celebrated our anniversary on a quiet winter Sunday evening and we couldn't have had a better experience. The food was to die for, high quality, expertly prepared, eleganly served. Tableside caesar salad preparation and warm but not intrusive service made the event one to remember!
