This secluded, peaceful Inn is a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. It is worth adding an extra day to just swim in the pool, hike trails through the forest behind the backyard, and relax in the a hot tub afterwards. We were guests between seasons. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the winter at the height of skiing season! A good variety of rooms perfect for a romantic get-away or a family vacation. Paula provides a wonderful breakfast to start the day off, and delicious cookies for an afternoon snack. Bill and Paula are very gracious hosts, providing help with area information, and Bill even had the computer set up and ready to go to print boarding passes the next morning! We highly recommend Buttonwood Inn! George and Kay

What a fun time ! This is how you imagine things should be (but usually never quite works out that way). Paula and Bill go way way way out of their way for you and they know everything and everyone. The bed (we were in Room 7) was great, the breakfasts wonderful, the atmosphere delightful and it was quiet quiet quiet (why is it so hard to find quiet these days?). The location is out of the way but easy to find, there are easy hikes in the woods out the back door and fine dining (or salads from the salad bar at the local grocery), are within minutes. We just had a really really good time. We needed gluten and lactose free food and it was there without missing a beat. Even afternoon cookies were specially made and "reserved" for us. If only it were as easy in real life as Paula made it appear to be. In the area there are dozens of back roads through the woods and into small towns and beautiful drives, waterfalls aplenty and hiking trails everywhere from easy to strenuous.

We had the pleasure of staying at Buttonwood Inn this weekend. Bill and Paula are the best innkeepers we have ever encountered. They make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive until the time you say good- bye.

We were served the most delicious breakfasts and the best evening snacks we have ever had at an inn. This inn is sparkling clean, and our room was large enough to accompany the two of us, and our four year old grandson.

Bill became a friend to our grandson the moment we arrived. Bill and Paula treated him special throughout our stay. We were only here for two nights, but wished we could have stayed longer.

Do not hesitate in making a reservation at this inn, because it will definitely please you!

We enjoyed our two nights at the Buttonwood Inn in early August 2012. When we arrived the aroma of chocolate was wonderful. Paula was in the kitchen baking brownies for what I call an "Afternoon Delight." Breakfasts were delicious and very well presented. Our table overlooked a lovey view of the front yard with many colorful flowers. It was very picturesque and peaceful. Bill was extremely helpful with any questions we had and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and sights. Our bedroom was neat and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The next time though we will chose a room with a bathroom instead of one down the hall. The Innkeepers at Buttonwood make a great team! You will not be disappointed!!

Can't say enough about the quality of the Buttonwood Inn! The owners, Bill and Paula, definitely have the right recipe for coordinating all details of this beautiful B&B. It's rated #1 for very good reason. My elderly mother and I visited in Aug 2012. Instantly we felt at home. The Inn is situated a couple miles from the hustle and bustle of the shopping areas of North Conway so it's very peaceful and quiet but wouldn't say it's remote. I had to spend time working in the living room on my laptop. It was very comfortable and the music playing softly in the background was so relaxing. No detail has been missed and every area is clean, organized and very nicely decorated. The grounds are beautiful and Bill is always willing to build an evening fire. He even provided a bear sighting! Paula was gracious and makes sure to provide delicious fare for guests. We highly recommend this gem!

My husband, adult son and I spent the weekend in this wonderful Inn. Our mission was to ride MT Washington on our motorcycles. While we did just that and it was an awesome experience, we only wish we had more time to spend at The Buttonwood Inn. The Innkeepers Bill & Paula were so nice. Bill was incredibly helpful to all the guests, recommending places to go, where to eat and the best routes to take. Paula is a chef and it showed in her nothing less than amazing breakfasts! She also puts out wonderful snacks for their guests in the afternoon. The attention to details and the efforts to make everyone feel welcome combined with the impeccable cleanliness is why this is the best experience we have ever had staying at an Inn.
We checked in late on a Friday evening and had a plate of homemade ( oh so good!) brownies awaiting us that both my husband and son devoured. In our beautiful room, there was a fresh picture of water on the nightstand. In the unbelievably clean bathroom, extra items a guest might have forgotten to pack. In the dining room a table devoted to assisting guests in navigating the many things to do and places to eat in North Conway, including coupons off at some places. The yard is beautiful, with pool, jacuzzi and fire pit along with comfortable chairs and beautiful landscaping. Inside is a very large common room with a big screen TV, comfortable furniture, a refrigerator along with DVD's and many other things to hang out and do.
It was so obvious to us that Bill and Paula have poured themselves into their Inn and they take pride in all the hard work it takes to make the place so comfortable and welcoming. I can only say to anyone considering this Inn....do it! My husband and I are already trying to figure out when we can go back.

Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay here longer-there is a really friendly, relaxed atmosphere at this b&b. Bill is a convivial, informative host, and Paula’s breakfasts are lovely. The waffles were the nicest I have ever tasted. Absolutely everything has been thought of, with various areas for guests to relax, a great pool and a hot tub, which was a real treat. It was a very peaceful setting, with hummingbirds flying around the bird feeders on the porch; Bill showed us photos of a bear which visited one morning, although sadly, we didn’t see one ourselves! We stayed in room 2, which had an en-suite bathroom (some rooms have a bathroom across the hallway) and a very pretty mural on the wall. We visited Jackson Falls nearby, which is also to be recommended. There were also discount vouchers for restaurants and other attractions which we made use of, eating at the very nice Red Parka Inn nearby. This was a great choice for a relaxing trip to the Mt Washington Valley area; the inn deserves all the excellent reviews.

Room Tip: Some rooms do not have bathrooms ensuite-check if this is an issue for you. We stayed in rrom 2 whic...
