Convenient, casual and fun! We stayed at the Red Jacket Mountain view resort for a few days and had a great time. The water park was a hit with my 9 and 11 year old boys as was the arcade. We all enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet and the price was very reasonable! The front desk staff was very accommodating and friendly. Skiing at Cranmore Mountain was easy to get to and a perfect mountain for our family. My boys were sad to leave! Thank you Steve and staff!

We stayed 2/15/2013 in room 105 the view was great!! That's all. The beds and room look like it hadn't been updated since the 1960's. The people upstairs sounded like they were going to come through the roof. At check it the lady had no personality. Oh and check out she answered the phone not once but twice while she was helping me. All I wanted was a reciept. Never again would I stay there. The water park was great the front desk staff were very outgoing. The snack place in the water park was great.

Thank you for writing, although the Water Park and staff were A+ in your book, I am sorry that we missed the mark on the room's scores with your review. We constantly restyle our accommodations while retaining the traditional look and certainly our goal is to make resort guests love us all around, when you next visit the valley, please contact me directly, I will find you a room as great as you've come to find my team is in person!

We hope you have a great year and will be awaiting your return when you come back for some more respite.

Stayed here for a long weekend mid Feb in 2013 on a family ski trip. It wasn't quite what I'd expected when I booked, but we had a nice stay and the staff really was friendly and helpful.

The Pros: I chose Red Jacket primarily because of the waterpark, giving our 2 kids something to get excited about, as the skiiing thing is mostly for my wife & I. The waterpark was clean and well maintained, and suprisingly not very crowded, although the big snowstorm that weekend may have kept the crowds down. The larger waterslides were alot of fun for the whole family. When the room they gave us turned out to be right next to the very noisy lobby, I asked if they perhaps had another room and Stephanie upgraded us to a mountain view room with a loft. That unexpected (and unrequested) upgrade showed me that the management and staff really do walk the walk when it comes to trying to please their guests. The location of Red Jacket is excellent for both getting quickly to several ski resorts and also close to lots of dining and shopping options, it made a great 'base of operations'. The loft room we stayed in was very spacious and the mountain view was nice.

The cons: The waterpark is much smaller than I expected and aside from the large waterslides, has very little to offer older children, I would say it's really best for kids 9 and under. While very clean, the hotel is older and shows some wear. I understand it's tough for smaller chains like Red Jacket to remodel their properties as frequently as the big guys, but for what Red Jacket charges they're going to have to start renovating to justify it. The VHS (!) player in the room made me laugh out loud. The mattresses seem like they're towards the end of their useful life and weren't a good rest. Red Jacket bills this property as a resort, but that would imply that there are surrounding grounds, there really isn't. There is a steep hill leading up from the state highway in front of the hotel, that is the only open area. The outdoor pool and small outdoor play area are I guess what they would consider the resort grounds, but I wouldn't call it worthy of the term resort. Pretty much every inch of the property is covered with buildings and parking lot, like any other hotel.

Overview: If you've got younger kids, this is the place for you and it's worth the money. There is clearly a family focus with activities geared towards keeping them entertained, plus the waterpark. If you've got kids over 10, it's not. If you're a couple looking for a nice romantic getaway, there are much better options in the area, at a price that is comparable and sometimes lower. The staff was awesome, but I don't think I'd stay again unless the owners invested more into the property to make it a little nicer and justify the room rate.

Dear Friends from Tennessee: Thank you for your visit this pre-vacation! We noted your pros and cons and yes, we will continue to add renovations and changes year after year so you CAN visit us again and rate our staff as friendly as you've done! We have new public area finishes, some brand spankin' new family homes to offer and even a new ballroom look - all while continuing the traditional Mt. Washington Valley look throughout. Our unexpected delight in an upgrade was our pleasure for sure, and thank you for the Kahuna Laguna mentions, we will have thousands of little smiles this coming vacation with more to come!

We hope your visit to the North was memorable including those where our staff interacted with your family, stay in touch on our new additions and I promise you'll find value in every stay!

We decided last minute to go away and avoid a blizzard in Massachusetts that left us without power for 4 days. Best idea ever!! The hotel is nice & clean, the staff was incredibly friendly & helpful-Stephanie, who worked the front desk in the evening was charming & sweet & the kids had a ball at the indoor water park. Food was very good & located in the heart of North Conway with lots of great shopping & dining. Great experience all around. We will definitely go back!

Room Tip: We opted for the less expensive "garden view" and it was lovely-no need to spend extra...

Thank you for choosing our home while yours and neighbors were awaiting power! We were glad to be alittle part of some respite and even memorable service while your mind must have been on your home in Mass post-Nemo! Stephanie whom you mentioned and her unsung support team are here for vacations and power-finding visits alike!

When you plan a summer return, give her or any of us a call and let us rekindle the positives of Winter 2013 from our people welcoming you to maybe a dip in the Saco across the road!

Thank you again for your kind words and visit last week...

We recently chose Red Jacket Mountain View Resort to take our two children, ages 6&3, for their first stay in a hotel! I am so glad we came! All of the employees are very friendly, and the resort is kept in great shape. Although we didn't need much assistance, I could tell any employee would bend over backwards to make our stay as pleasant as possible. One tiny drawback was that on our second night we had a super loud family with kids bouncing off the walls all night staying above us, but it's not the resort's fault.
Of course, we chose to purchase the package which included breakfast (yummy) and use of Kahuna Laguna, the indoor water park. It was a great decision. My kids both had a BLAST and we would definitelylike to make this an annual trip!! Thanks so much.

Dear Maine Friends: How nice to be the very first overnight hotel stay for your two cuties and for the gold star we've earned with Mom and Dad! We remember seeing them descend down the grand staircase a few times with smiles - that's what fuels our team day in and day out.

We are proud of your compliments and when you've got a certain special 7th and 4th birthday to celebrate or first grade report cards...you know who will be here to repeat with some new touches of service everytime!

Thank you again and feel free to post some pics on our page - we love seeing us in the background of some smiles and memories...

I performed at a wedding ceremony outside & then a reception inside. The grounds were very nice with an outdoor swimming pool, and inside the lounge area was decent-sized. The reception area/function room was very large, and had picture windows with a remarkable view of the mountains! Attached to the Resort was an arcade, snack bar, and a full-sized indoor water park that the bride & groom took a plunge in after their reception while still attired in wedding gown & tuxedo. I highly recommend this resort to newlyweds, for wedding ceremonies, receptions, or just families looking to have a good time during their stay, as opposed to just another stay in a room somewhere.

Dear Scott: we are proud to read your great recap particularly from someone who has authored 75 reviews! You're a seasoned traveler and we are glad your trips came for a wedding at our resort...not only do the mountains make a remarkable backdrop but a bright yellow waterslide for the Bride and Groom do too! We confess that we partook in the poolside applause as they landed and cannot wait to see the pictures of such a special day!

Thank you again for the sound recap and rest assured, you wont need a bride and groom to gain another warm welcome at our resort!

The staff at the desk was extremely friendly helping us to find a nice room and giving us all kind of information for excursions etc. which made our stay very pleasant despite of the bad weather we experienced during our stay. Dinner menus were excellent, specially the Chef's lobster creations. We had a nice big room and the mattresses were very comfortable. All in all you get a lot for what you pay.
The only negative thing was the furniture in the dining/breakfast room which was a bit "worn out" and could be rejuvenated. But it didn't bother much to us as the food incl. breakfast was very good.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the mountains have a fantastic view!

Dear friends from Switzerland: Thank you for the excursion you've made to the White Mountains! We loved the headline about friendly staff and cozy rooms, both are what we strive for! You can bet our Executive Chef James was jumping for joy when he read the A Grade you've given our culinary offerings, Lobster being a main Star!

Thank you again for spending precious vacation time with us and rest assured: we will see you again with open arms anytime you trek back to New Hampshire...
