My girlfriend, Dee, and I decided to celebrate our one-year anniversary by dining at the Stonehurst Manor. When we pulled up to the manor, we were in awe of the great view it had. It was a Friday, we recommend making reservations; we didn't and we had about a 20 minute wait. However, while we sat at the bar, it gave us a great opportunity to admire the unbelievably beautiful architecture... what a great romantic setting, right down to the crackling fireplace. The food was terrific! I had the haddock stuffed with lobster stuffing while she had the rosemary lamb. It was delicious! The service was excellent and we had a bonus... the server was so nice and funny... she made our night extra fun. Hi, Donna! We look forward seeing you next time we come in. When we make reservations, we'll request you.

Thursday nite you get two entrees for $27 that is a steal! They do not compromise their quality either. I love the French onion soup it has 4 different kinds of onions. The open face Wellington is cooked over a wood fire and you taste the wood...it is amazing. I had blue cheese in a basmati rice. There is a deal where you stay and have your meals included...we are going to have to do that since we also take out the stone fired pizzas from here...YUMMMM. George has liked the Beggar's Pouchs (lobster in pasta) when we have dined here on other occasions. This time we dined with Allan and he had the night's special, I believe it was Spiced Pork Medallions; he said it was very tender and delicious. His comment about StoneHurst "I find the Stonehurst is always consistant" that is very important in resturants and I can say all the times I have been there I have never been disappointed. They make you turn off your cell phone before entering the dining room...I think that's classy! Also a little secret their house wine is from a small California vineyard in the Napa Valley on the Russian River (the Pinot Noir)

Went Thursday night for the two-for-one special as recommended by the motel desk clerk. Checked Trip Advisor and was a little apprehensive with the less than top 20 rating. Must have reservation, especially on Thursday night. Called at 3pm and earliest we could get was 8:30pm. We were seated immediately and service was fast and attentive. Ambiance is great. Our prime rib and beef wellington were excellent. We were pleased that they did not rush the meal and allowed us to stay well past closing time. A very pleasant surprise.

Beautiful place but do need reservations, we had them and walked right in and sat down, beautiful grounds and beautiful old Inn. Food was good . On Thursday they have a great deal, buy one dinner and get one free, this does include the entire menu, we got prime rib and got the other free. They have seasonal veggies and make deserts that are also seasonal, we had some sort of apple cake with cream cheese in the middle with ice cream . It was a great. Would go back.

My family was celebrating the birthday of my brother. We were seated promptly and received service immediately. Our waitress, Ann Chambers, was delightful and assisted us in determining our selections for dinner, which included wine and the reseaurant's best beer. The food was excellent, each one of our party agreeing that the quality and taste surpassed other fine restaurants we visited during our week in New England. The steaks, salmon and tuna were done perfectly. When giving compliments at the end of dinner to the chef, Jim Davis, he graciously gave us information on the preparation of one of the desserts.
Please make sure that these compliments are given to Ann Chambers and Chef Jim Davis. What a superb job!!
