Excellent BBQ and Cajun-style fare unusual north of the Mason-Dixon. They had New England hush puppies, which are the usual Southern hush puppies served with maple syrup for dipping. Excellent idea. I had pork chops with accompanying crab cakes which were both good. The cakes had a bite of peppers which was just right. My wife enjoyed her New England quesadillas with chicken, butternut squash and cheese. The porch offered and excellent view of Mount Washington which still had snow fields in early June. Great for food, beer and local atmosphere. Recommended.

“Disappointed . . . at least for the non-red meat eater”
Reviewed May 20, 2009

I was so looking forward to this place after all of the positive reviews. I even checked out the menu online to see the selections - which all looked very appealing and reasonable in price too.

Bottomline: if you're going for average fare such as burgers or perhaps ribs - I'm sure this is a great pick. However if you're a non-red meat eater as I am they definitely SKIMP on your food leaving you unsatisfied as a result. See below for details.

I ordered the blackened catfish wrap with cajun fries. There must've been about 1 oz of catfish in the wrap with the rest being black beans and rice. Not very tasty either - beans rice were overdone and you could barely taste the catfish - which didn't have much flavor. They gave plenty of fries which were suprisingly bland (especially since they were "cajun."). My husband ordered the California Burger with guacamole and cajun fries. He enjoyed his burger - no complaints there. However we noticed the guacamole was definitely not authentic - probably had some kind of filler (again there is the skimping factor). Our waitress on the other hand did a great job! (Blonde with a ponytail in her 40's). She was attentive and friendly.

Would not go back again - especially when you can get average fare anywhere else. Was looking for something with "local flavor" - key word FLAVOR (oh and value too - but not trying to skimp). Would rather have tried Elvio's pizza or China Chef or Shalimar - all of which we have yet to try.

“Great food, Great beers”
Reviewed April 7, 2009

We went with the familiy: food and service were very good. Must try the 7 beer tasters, an opportunity to discover the homebrew beer. Very affordable too.

Reviewed March 26, 2009

Wicked place, Top brewpub with sample of 6 ales for $6 if i remember correctly. Fantastic menu. Lots of veggie food on offer too. Just thru North Conway town on the left going north. Well worth a look out. The ribs and burgers and pizza were amazing, The bock beer was great too. If you miss it u miss out.

“Different experience from others.”
Reviewed March 24, 2009

We ate here in mid March and were looking forward to it after reading the good reviews on tripadvisor. Perhaps we caught them on a bad night but its not an experience I would want to repeat. Despite the bar & restaurant being pretty quiet when we arrived we were ignored whilst the staff hung out and chatted to each other and the apparent regulars at the bar. No big deal we were noticed eventually. The beer was very good and we would return just for that however the food and service left a lot to be desired. Soup was too salty, chilli chicken had been ruined by too much chilli sauce, a burger that had to be sent back as the order was incorrect.

Like I said maybe we just caught them on a bad night, I think an earlier reviewer mentioned that the menu is large (which it is) perhaps if they focused on a few items they could be really great as opposed to much choice which is mediocre. Good beer though.
