We really enjoyed the Moose hunt with Dan. Even though it was the end of the season he still found us a moose! He is a very informative and pleasant host! We learned the history of Gorham and it was a pleasure spending time on this tour. Being from Florida, it was a great change of pace talking with Dan about life in New Hampshire!

Dan was very informative and great at finding Mooses. We saw four close up and got great pictures. Really enjoyed the evenings. Highly recommend, if you are in the area then you need to do yourself a favor and join the tour. You learn about the moose and general information about the area. Fun time!

Dan did a pretty good job of trying to find moose for us, but we only saw one across a lake at quite a distance. As luck would have it was cow, rather than a bull. Dan said they had seen three moose the evening before, and out of 90 outing this year only 8 had spotted no moose. Unfortunately that's the luck of the draw when trying to sightsee wildlife. We met the tour in Gorham, so that is where I had a motel reservation. Be forewarned - Gorham rolls up the sidewalks at 9 p,m. There was less nightlife in Gorham than wildlife on our outing. The only places open after 9 p.m. are McDonald's and burger King. Seriously.

It you want to see Moose, Dan knows where and when to find them. We arrived at his location in Gorham, NH, just past the intersection of Rt 16 & Rt 2, for a 5:30 a.m. departure. Moose, generally, are nocturnal, so the best time to see them is sunrise or sunset. On the way to the Moose haunts, Dan provided an interesting and enlightening history, social, and economic, commentary of the Gorham, Berlin & North Woods areas.. He also played a very interesting Discovery Channel Moose video while we drove to the North Woods. We didn't realize it, but there actually is a Moose Viewing season, when it's most likely to see these huge creatures. We were late in the season, so there was a good chance that we might not locate them. However, Dan's sharp eyesight moose calls, and knowledge of the Moose areas helped locate them. They really are magnificent to see. Our trip was during the first full weekend in October, which is a bit on the late side, but the guided tour, the history, and the unexpected fall foliage, as well as touring some local Gorham establishments after the tour, made it a very enjoyable experience.

We have been to the New England area many times and never saw a moose. We even went as far as Baxter State Park which is north of Bar Harbour and were never able to see one. This year we decided on the White Mountains and decided to hire an expert. We found that expert in Dan. He was knowledgeable not only on the moose but on he history of the area. We were concerned at first that we wouldn't see one but Dan knew what he was doing and found us our first moose. We were able to observe for quite awhile taking pictures and video. It was a great experience....thank you Dan. The other thing I should mention is that the price was very reasonable (30.00 per person) and well worth it!
