Just got back from a wedding at the Manor. Everything was perfect. Food at the wedding and in the restaurant was very good. Everyone was very helpful. The view was great. We would stay there again. Would like to stay in the winter also

In February after undergoing complicated spine surgery, planning a trip to N. Conway sounded like something to look forward to.
As it turned out, the Manor was indeed a nice spot, quiet and beautiful views.
The food was very good and lots of it. The only thing was at the dinner hour, the A/C wasn't on and it was very hot! I had to leave and go outside.
Our room was on the 3rd floor. The next time we will choose the 2nd as the staircase leading up to the 3rd floor was steep with narrow steps. Our room was adequate but the bed was rickety and the mattress had seen better days, No good sleep for us.
Overall, we did like the Manor and will come back but not on the 3rd floor! We have to check on Sophie! She was a doll.

Thank you for taking the time to write of your recent visit with us. We do apologize that you didn't find our brand new pillow-top mattresses comfortable. When do you are able to join us again, please make mention that you would like to try our deluxe rooms on the second floor of the Manor.

My wife and I spent our anniversary weekend there. The setting is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food is amazing. This is a place not to miss. You have easy access to all the features of the North Conway area from here. The staff is friendly and efficient. We will definitely make a return visit.

Room Tip: Room 320 has a king bed, fireplace and Jacuzzi. We recommend it highly.

The Stonehurst has always been a great stand by when friends come to town on the week-end or just friends and family enjoying the Thursday 2 for 1 special. I can honestly say that I have eaten here 4-6 times a year for the past 10 years.

Stonehurst always got it right. Medium Rare was Medium Rare. The Servers knew the menu. White Wine was chilled. Portions and quality were consistent. That is why we always returned. But this last visit was a disappointment.

It was a Thursday night we had 7 in are party. It had been a warm day but pleasant, with a nice breeze. When we arrived at 5:30pm the dining room was "warm" all the windows were open and a breeze could be felt, the dining room was pretty much empty. Well within an hour every seat was taken and the room started to heat up and by the end of dinner there were a lot of red faces and beads of sweat among the staff and patrons. Bad Management not to turn on the AC.

One of the night's specials was Scallops and Lobster in a "Pink Pesto" sauce which was described as a light cream tomato sauce with a hint of pesto. Sounded great, but what came out was a huge un-garnished bowl of over cooked Penna with Scallops and a Hint of Lobster in a rich caramel colored Newburg sauce. (the same sauce that was served on the Begger's Pouch appetizer.) It was not as advertised and it was not "Special".

Two veal dishes the Saltimbocca and Crab Oscar are old favorites, but the veal this time was not moist and juicy, it was thin, grey, tasteless and covered in a heavy breadcrumb that reminded me of the coating on mystery meat in my high school cafeteria. (Could it have been dropped in the fryolator?) A great dish brought to it's knees.

The Prime Rib and Cedar Plank Salmon were OK, but uninspired. The plates were not presented well. They came out like a 1950's steak house = Meat Potato, & Veg. A chive sprout, a pansy petal, a wasabi rose, rainbow kale confetti or hell a piece of parsley, nothing should leave the kitchen without a garnish.

The table all ordered Chocolate Bombs or Tiramisu, both were good but no WOW factor.

So, the final issue I had was the bill. When the promotion is 2 for $28 and you show up with 7 people, order drinks, wine and desserts, do you think you could charge 6 at $28 and 1 at $14? No that would be acting like you wanted us to come back.

We are so sorry that after all your Thursday night visits for the past 10 years, we have let you down. We wished you had mentioned to us during dinner how unpleased you were so we could have taken the opportunity to correct address your concerns. If you would like to discuss this matter with our General Manager or our Chef, please give the Manor a call. Again, our sincere apologies.

This is truly a place for total relaxation. We have been going to Stonehurst for years and would not stay anywhere else in the North Conway area. The rooms are clean and inviting, the food is five star and the people treat you as if you were their neighbor. Our favorite relaxation places are the lounge with the wall to wall fireplace and the knoll overlooking the mountains. The dogs love it too. We do the all inclusive package, which includes breakfast and dinner. What a great deal!

Room Tip: Travelers without dogs would probably want to stay in the manor rooms.

Beautifully set above the highway, in the middle of trees and gardens with terraces ,pool a.s.o., with marvelous mountain views .Main house with cosy bar and nice veranda restaurant. But rooms need better equipment: NO telephone, No iron board, NO fridge, NO hair dryer...the basics you find in any motel! Half board is ok for dinner (nothing special), but very nice full breakfast. Excellent price/quality at +/- 140$ for 2 per night.(in may). if rooms will get more equippement it will be an excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a mountan view.
