“Worth A Wait -- If There Is One...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

Don't be discouraged if you find yourself waiting for a table at this downtown eatery in North Conway. It's a small place, wth a loyal following, so it fills up quickly (less than ten tables if we counted right). It can get frustrating standing on the stairs waiting for the folks ahead of you to be seated, but once you're sitting down and eating, the food is definitely worth it.

A recent noontime visit entailed a wait of ten-to-fifteen minutes, but the two servers handling the dining room were doing their best to get tables cleared and the next party seated as quickly as possible, One of today's "specials" was a pumpkin-and-almond pancakes dish that one of our group called "simply fantastic. I'd order it again right now, but I'm too full." Another of our party had an excellent grilled ham-tomato-asparagus-and-cheddar on a "great" whole wheat bread. The food comes out promptly considering there's just one person in the kitchen -- and just watching what other folks are eating helps the time pass quickly. Prices are very reasonable considering the variety and quality of the food.... Definitely worth a repeat visit!!

“Unique”

The wait in line on Sunday Morning was worth it. Efficient staff with a unique menu. Omlettes were good. Boar sausage excellent. Nice place for breakfast.

“Nice, filling sandwich”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

Having eaten very little breakfast that day, I decided to fill up with a sandwich. Luckily, I chanced upon this place. They made me a superb turkey salad sandwich that really hit the spot. Delicious and freshly made. I can highly recommend the turkey salad sandwich.

“Very Impressed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

We went to breakfast here on a Sunday morning and couldn't have been happier. The menu was unique and extensive and the food was incredible. We loved the atmosphere inside too. It felt very homy and you could tell everything was made to order.

“Stairway to heaven--ly breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

On our last morning in North Conway we strolled to the cafe. The train was getting ready to leave the station across the street and the mists were starting to lift. The "stairway" was lined with three other clients waiting with anticipation for breakfast. The cosy cafe smelled of freshly made delights and happy patrons enjoying their meals. The queue on the stairs grew and wandered onto the street. Satisfied diners kept reassuring us the wait is well worth it.

We eagerly accepted the coffee offered as we sat down. The menu is daunting but we settled for rancheros verde and the Texas French toast sandwich. Real maple syrup, yummmmmm!
The staff didn't seem stressed by the busy pace and we enjoyed their humming/singing.
Will definitely return on our next visit.
