“Spacious Home From Home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2011

The suite was very spacious for someone who usually lives in a small apartment. The kitchen area was spotless and well equipped and the table and chairs handy if you wanted to eat in. As we ere only staying two nights it was a bit wasted on us but would have been excellent for longer stays or family's that don't want to eat out all the time. There was a reasonable free continental breakfast and my only gripe would be the very slow internet access but that might just be the mountain location.

The room is perfect --- clean and modern, comfortable...the workout room is excellent and the staff is fantastic. The free breakfast and snacks in the evening are terrific...they also pop fresh popcorn each evening and have freshly baked cookies and chilled water at the ready in the lobby.
The staff is helpful and friendly. Especially the front desk and breakfast team.
The maid service is excellent and they will grab fresh towels, soap etc. whenever you need it. I would highly recommend this Marriott property. A gem in the Marriott chain.

Spent two nights here on the Canadian Victoria Day weekend. It was our first trip to North Conway and we would definitely stay here again. As the weather was not particularly nice, the indoor pool was well used by our 4-year-old. The fitness equipment was solid and modern. I regretted not having brought my ipod. The room itself was spotless and clean. The front desk people were always helpful and cheerful. The hotel itself is well situated for sightseeing and for the outlet mall. The breakfast is not the greatest as has been commented on but about what we expected for the price. The other glitch for us which we find in many places is the hearting/cooling fans are so loud they can disrupt sleep. Fortunately we were able to turn it off and slept much better the second night.

My wife and i were passing through the white mountains and needed a place to stay. We jumped on Expedia and picked up a 1 night stay for $97. I know this is the quietest time of year in the area, but we were stoked with the deal once we checked inn. The rooms are massive, with full kitchen/combined lounge room and comfy king bed. Massive flat screen tv with full cable, free wifi, decent bathroom, coffee & tea making gear and even microwave popcorn! The breakfast was inclusive which was pretty average but hey, for the money, we just stuck to cereal, toast and fruit which and were quite happy. There is an indoor pool, jacuzzi, laundry room (a welcomed site after 2 weeks on the road) and bbq facilities outdoors. The staff were all top notch and smiling - 10/10 ps, check out the Moat Mountain Smokehouse for dinner and beer, only 3 miles up the road and great!

As other reviewers have said, a very good hotel. We had a two bedroom suite for four of us, plenty of room and excellent facilities. Nice beds and pillows too, you could easily stay for a week or more. Staff very helpful and welcoming.

We had a one bedroom executive suite and it was clean. The staff was nice, the food served in the morning was decent, and I would stay here again.

We stayed at the Residence Inn during an Easter weekend trip to North Conway for some shopping and some relaxation. I wanted to stay at this property for its tripadvisor rating, its price and proximity to shopping areas.

We have stayed at both the White Mountain Hotel and the North Conway Grand Hotel on previous trips to North Conway. While these hotels were "ok", they didn't live up to the price we paid and we left with some disappointment.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. During the check-in process we were also thanked for our "loyalty to the Marriott brand" as we were Marriott rewards members. Now we are members of a number of hotel loyalty programs and this was the first time that we have been THANKED for loyalty. This was a nice touch that really resonated with us.

The rooms are exactly as they appear on the website. They are apartment style with plenty of space to stretch out. We had the King Studio Suite, which is a "small" room (still huge by comparison to standard hotel rooms). The bed was comfy with nice linens and plenty of pillows. The TV is on a swivel so you can either point it at the bed or the living area, depending on where you are. The dining table is plenty big for two people, the couch sits three, and there is an easy chair, ottoman and desk as well. The couch also pulls out (a double) if you are so inclined to share this space with others.

We made use of the full size fridge by bringing some snacks with us. We didn't use the stovetop or the microwave, but they looked to be quite modern and of good quality. The kitchen sink is exceptionally deep (I hand washed some laundry in it easily) and it has a garbage disposal built into it.

The windows actually open, which was a very nice feature as we could let some fresh, mountain air into our room during the day. The HVAC system IS a little loud in the room. But let's be real, industrial HVAC is not going to be as quiet and pleasant as your central air at home. If you have trouble getting to sleep with noise, bring some earplugs. But as the HVAC only kicks in and out at intervals, it really was not an issue for us.

A little warning for folks new to mountains: the air is DRY. As a result, you might find that your throat is a little scratchy and/or you snore as a result. If its possible or practical, bring a small humidifier with you for a more pleasant rest.

The gym facilities are very modern as well. However, we are both very tall and the ceilings in the gym are very low. We found that when we were on the elliptical trainers our heads were far too close to the ceiling where the air was a little thinner! We switched to different cardio machines and had a good workout in the end. The gym also has medicine balls, free weights, a yoga ball, mats and a weight bench. A tip to other tall folks reading this: if you try to do step ups on the weight bench, your head WILL go through the ceiling panel! Ha!) There is also a pool and hot tub, but we didn't use either.

Now to get to my only criticism of this property: the hot breakfast is straight up gross. The cold items are exactly what you would expect: pastries, English muffins, breads, fruit, yogurt etc. There was also a Belgium waffle station that made some pretty tasty waffles! However, the "eggs" were the type (I suspect) that you mix with water first and then "scramble". Another morning there were eggs that resembled eggs from a children's play-doh playset: perfectly uniform, rubbery as all get out and a complete departure from anything that resembles natural. The potatoes and the sausage rounds were not so great as well. All of these hot items really had that "preservative" taste. So it you have a sensitivity to these sorts of chemicals (like I do) or want to be confident about where your food is sourced, I would stick to the cold items.

Even with this bizarre breakfast experience, we would absolutely stay here again. It's a tremendous value (109-119 for a king studio) and it is located only a couple blocks away from the Settler's Green outlet park. The friendly, personal service will also keep me thinking about this property for a while.
