We brought our 8 yo daughter up to North Conway to see Santa and ride the Conway Scenic RR. I purchased tickets for the "dome" car so we'd have a view of the scenery. IT had snowed the night before so the dome was covered with snow, but when we got to the station it was raining. We were concerned the view would be blocked, The staff asked if we would like to move seats but also told us the snow typically clears off once the train gets running. We stuck with our seats and the snow did melt, so the view was just fine. Santa and his Elves were very accommodating and took pictures with the passengers. They passed out cookies and hot chocolate so it was a fun family event.

We had paid more to sit up in the dome section, and we enjoyed it, but I wouldn't pay the extra again. I think kids will enjoy the ride from any seat.

We took the valley train, so not the best scenery. But the railroad is full of charm, and the kids loved it.

On a family trip to visit Storyland and decided to take the train ride. We thought we were getting tickets to go on the Crawford Notch trip but we were instead on the train that went south to Conway. It was a fun ride but I imagine the other train would have been more scenic. Would like to do it again, maybe the Polar Express Train when the grandchildren are a bit older.

The train ride was very enjoyable and, with first-class seats, comfortable. We opted for the boxed lunch but failed to note the lunch drinks were only served in another car. As expected, the scenery was great, but the Fall colors had yet to peak. Commentary was loud enough in our car and the break at Crawford Notch Station was welcome.

We're glad that this reviewer enjoyed his ride with us on the Notch Train. The box lunches that are pre-ordered include everything except a beverage, which is available in the snack car on the train. When the box lunches are given out before people board, a crew member is supposed to tell the passengers where they can pick up their beverage. We apologize if, in this case, those instructions were missed.

It sounds as though a nice, relaxing day was enjoyed, and we hope that Irene and George will come back to visit us again next year!

This is by far, the most wonderful experience. We were lucky that it had snowed a few days before, so the area was almost magical! You board the Polar Express train at the station and kids (and adults, too, if they want) wear pajamas, just like in the book. You travel to the north pole, and during the ride, get hot chocolate and a candy bar! Once reading the north pole, you walk up the hill to listen to the story of the Polar Express and of course at the end, Santa appears! This is all run by volunteers and only runs from Thanksgiving to Christmas. For the little ones (and some big ones) it is an experience never forgotten. YOU MUST BOOK EARLY. (try July)
