Seating in the dome is not worth the extra money. Was not able to see any better. First class seating with lunch would be fine. Lunch in dining car is wonderful. Loved every second of return trip in the dining car. View was better than in the dome.

A great day of adventure to Crawford Notch. The ride, train and crew were all great. I suggest going on a clear day to see some spectacular views and pictures. We started in the First Class car, but ended up in the coach car with an open window both ways. There is a small food stand where sandwiches, chips, drinks and ice cream can be purchased. It is a 5 hour trip that is well worth taking.

Rode the Notch Train and had lunch in the dining car. The meal was tasty and was a good portion of food. If you can't get a seat in the dome car go coach the best views are from the open air car. Smooth ride, friendly staff, great scenery nice display of retired railroad equipment and model railroad.

Thanks for this great review, Russ! Just a note of clarification: dining on the Hattie Evans is only available as part of the First Class Package. Coach passengers don't have that option, though there is a snack bar on the train, and box lunches can be pre-ordered.

Took the ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad on it's 39th anniversary. Were surprised to receive half price tickets for the ride and free cake and lemonade after the ride. A relaxing ride and great way to start off the vacation in North Conway.

The first class car was from the1890s and totally fascinating. Staff are great, and the overall experience was a highlight.
