Booked the 55 minute ride from North Conway to Conway. If you want to see trees and the dirty back alley of hicks sheds, go ahead an enjoy the ride. A terrible train ride, with absolutely nothing to see aside maybe from a few backhoe in a parking lot!!! I think I would have paid $60 NOT to have to take the train ride (what it cost us for 2 adults and a toddler to ride in the dome section).

The most exciting comments the commentor could make was that we were crossing route 16 (again!) and the high school field!!!

Would not recommend to anybody, it is a pure rip off.

We're sorry that this reviewer was so disappointed by the experience here. As I've written before, the North Conway area has seen a great deal of development along Route 16 in the 40 years since the railroad was founded. However, this Conway excursion does offer lovely views of the Moat Mountain Range as well as distant mountain views as it travels through unspoiled farm fields and crosses the Swift and Saco Rivers. Starting with our beautiful station that dates back to 1874, we offer an old-fashioned railroad experience here, and, as we continue to emphasize, scenery is just one component of that experience.

The historic rail cars are really fun and the ride takes you through beautiful scenery. The guide is very knowledgable and had interesting facts.

We loved the train ride. It's especially great for young children aboard an old fashioned railway and train. There is a sweet little railway station there where you can stock up on your Thomas the Train collection, too.

We have a young son who loves trains. They have several rides throughout the year geared towards kids and my children love it. The cars are old but that is part of the charm!

Last summer my family enjoyed a scenic ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad. The train ride was such a memorable experience. They have winter trips which are called the Santa Express, and other holiday special rides for familes and friends.
