Location was great - right in the center of town and walkable to lots of stores and restaurants. The pool and spa were nice, especially in the middle of winter. However, the pool is in the main building and there are about 4-5 (if not more) separate buildings where at least 1/2 of the rooms are located. Part of the plan for the trip was to getaway and swim and who wants to walk through the winter with wet hair and bathing suit?

However, I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed by the information and goods supplied in our room. I reserved a suite and was met with a murphy bed, not at all what was indicated in any photos. They were kind enough to leave a fruit and cheese basket, but it was old, past the expiration date, and moldy. Just totally disgusting.

Can't say if I want to stay there again. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Please except my apologies if your stay was not as you had expected.

We do have 10 different buildings that offer a diverse range of accommodations, spanning standard hotel units in the main inn with a king or queen bed to deluxe studio units and hotel units in our suites. The studio units in the suites have a queen wall bed as opposed to a standard king bed. Photos of both types of accommodations are presented on our website. The studio units have the added amenities of a kitchen, where the hotel suites contain a wet bar area.

It sounds like you stayed with us on our SniqueAway promotion. Both types of accommodations were options on this package, based on availability. As for the amenities put in your room, I am truly sorry this was not fresh. We order these for delivery on the day of our guest’s arrival, and we will certainly follow up with the supplier in which we order in regards to the comments you made concerning the freshness of this gift basket.

Since you did enjoy the location as well as the resort amenities, it is my hope you will stay with us again. If you do, please contact Megan Scheid the Hospitality Manager at the resort so she can make sure your accommodations surpass your expectations.

We got a good deal from a discount site, so I wasn't expecting an awesome room. The grounds are bigger than I realized, considering all the years I've gone up to N. Conway, which the hotel portion was a bunch of different buildings. The lobby was pleasant, the check in desk was very polite and patient, and I was impressed with the room we ended up with. It was clean and large and mostly comfortable (I'm personally never comfortable on beds other than my own). The room was well equipt too. The only negative I can think of is that our room wasn't easily accessible (had to enter either through the back of the building or through a couple different doors which wasn't so efficient. We didn't utilize all the amenities so I cannot comment on those, but they do have an indoor pool as well as an outdoor Jacuzzi.

My wife and I spent the week of Sunday, February 24 to Sunday, March 3 in a top floor studio timeshare exchange in the Whitaker building of Eastern Slope Inn in North Conway, NH. Check-in at the main building was efficient, and our room was ready by 3:30 PM rather than the 4:00 guaranteed check-in time. We have been in North Conway many times before, but never stayed at this resort.
We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the studio apartment. It is the largest studio that we have stayed at with a decent amount of room in the living room section of the single room, such that it was possible to leave the Murphy bed in the down position all week long rather than have to put it up and down each day. The bed itself was comfortable to sleep on. The room had a large screen TV and DVD player, a couch, 2 chairs, tables, etc. There was also a small balcony overlooking the parking lot, but with views of the woods and mountains beyond. The kitchen section had a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and hotplate. There is also a dining table and chairs.
The bathroom is large, with a separate toilet area, a washer and dryer behind a closed door, and a whirlpool bathtub, which was fairly loud but worked quite well. The entire unit is very well heated by a gas fireplace, however it does not work like a typical atmospheric gas fireplace. There were only a number of very small, pilot light sized flames that created an odd overall appearance and did not approximate an actual fireplace at all. The resort only provided place settings for four, but upon request they doubled it, as we didn’t want to have to do dishes every day. The unit appeared to have been recently redone.
The main building housed the resort facilities, including a game room, fitness area, swimming pool, and indoor and outdoor hot tub. The pool was quite warm (which we liked), and the outdoor hot tub was fun, although it overlooked the front parking lot and could have been better situated to take advantage of the views. The fitness room was spacious and in excellent shape with bikes, treadmills, and weight machines all in good working order. It helps to relieve the guilt of eating and drinking too much on vacation if you can have two or three good workouts during your week off.
There is also a restaurant/bar in the main building which I would highly recommend. We found it convenient to go to The Flatbread Pizza Company for delicious and creative pizza and a lively bar with a decent array of beers on tap, on those snowy nights when you didn’t feel like venturing outside.
There are plenty of downhill ski areas around North Conway, and for cross country skiing you can’t beat Jackson, just a short drive from the resort. You can also snowshoe right out the back of the resort, through the woods and down to the Saco River, which we did. This was our first time staying in a resort right in “downtown” North Conway, and it does have its conveniences: fresh lattes in the morning at the Met, walk to the restaurants and taverns at night, outdoor public skating rink nearby, etc. Also, the usual timeshare pushers were not at the resort itself, but rather outside along the main street in North Conway where they would try to stop passers by. It’s a good concept to get them away from the resort and let them pester a larger population. They were also less aggressive than others that we have encountered, but we do appreciate that timeshare resorts need owners in order to function.
Just a few minor caveats: While we appreciated the large screen TV a lot, it would be nice if these resorts invested in a high definition signal to take advantage of the technology. Occasionally we also stay in resorts that offer at least one premium channel for guests, such as HBO. These days many people have high def and premium channels at their own homes, and they expect not to have to downgrade when they are on vacation. Also, there is free wireless access in all of the units which we applaud, but the signal could stand some boosting as it was fairly slow. In addition, you have to log back on repeatedly, which was a bit of a pain. Other resorts that we’ve stayed at only required one log in for the day, and in one case, the entire week. I would think that this would be a convenience that could be provided at little to no cost. Still, it was great to have the free wireless, and it’s hard to believe that there are still places that don’t offer that. Although there’s probably no way around it, it was a pain to have to get all bundled up in the winter to walk outdoors just to get to the pool, or gym, or Flatbread restaurant in the main building, lugging your gym clothes, bathing suits, etc. Finally, it is important to recognize that some of these units are connected to other units by a locked door. This was the case with our unit, which had a door between us and the unit beside us. The sound insulation in these places is quite poor, and it was easy to hear the people in the other unit talking and closing their kitchen cabinet doors. Fortunately for us, our neighbors had a larger unit with another room attached, so that we did not hear them when they left the kitchen. Also, and most importantly, they were very considerate people who, like us, were very quiet after 9 or 10 in the evening and in the early morning, so that everyone got a good sleep each night. It also helped that we were located in a top floor unit so we had no one above us.
Overall, we were very impressed with the Eastern Slope Inn, and enjoyed our stay there a great deal. We would have no issue with returning, but would be more careful next time to not book our vacation during New Hampshire school vacation week due to the number of children using the resort facilities, and the potential for noise from neighbors with children.

The Whitaker building is great. We had 2 adjoining rooms - full kitchen, fireplaces in both rooms, jacuzzi. Very clean. Flatbread pizza restaurant on site.
Another plus: left my daughters iPad behind and they returned it. That says a lot. Will be back!

Just returned from a week staying here with my family. Seems odd that rci members aren't treated as well as others in our opinion. We had an earlier check-out due to booking with rci, and because we had a washer and dryer in our suite we had no housekeeping all week. I don't often write reviews but I do feel that this needs addressing.
Whilst we don't normally stay in accommodations so close to shops and restaurants, it was all ok. The picture is very deceiving as it's right on the Main Street. We got the impression that it was off the main road and had it's own private drive- not so!!
The pool and hot tubs were fab, busy at times but did the job! The whole place could really do with some investment and refurbishments, and the plaza building could do with a lift instead of having to drag luggage up and down all those stairs! Car parking was a bit of an issue too. The bath in our suite was just about big enough for my 10 year old so no relaxing in there!! Other than that, room was comfortable and good size, laundry facilities handy, kitchen a good size, although a pair of scissors would have been useful.
All small things really that would have made our experience that bit better but overall we had a good time and we've never skied 3 slopes in a week before! Clean sheets and towels just once in our week would have been lovely.

If you do the "Free Weekend" of 3 days/2 nights in exchange for sales pitch, watch out! The flier says that the pitch will only be 30-45 mins but ours was close to three hours. In addition, the sales lady started out nice enough, but when my BF and I crunched numbers and just couldn't commit to the sale, she was magically able to come up with lower and lower priced options. After we had said no several times she called us "insane" and then insinuated that my boyfriend was over-controlling by not letting me get what I want... even though we had mutually agreed that we can't afford it. As we were leaving she pretty much chased us out the door trying to get the sell, which put a very sour taste in our mouths. We had truly been considering a purchase but because of the sales tactics we left feeling rather uneasy and quite angry about this saleswoman's comments.

I would like to apologies if your experience with our Vacation Ownership sales team during your recent stay with us was not what it should have been. Your comments have been brought to the attention of senior management who will meet with the manager in the Vacation Ownership Sales office to review them.

Our presentations typically take 45 -90 minutes, depending on the type of tour and presentation. This information should be stated on all our marketing material, and again we will be reviewing this material to make sure that is the case. The presentation can take longer depending on a guest’s knowledge of Vacation Ownership and how many questions the guest has in regards to this program.

We do have a variety of room options and vacation ownership programs available, so your sales representative would have the ability to work with you regarding pricing based on the type of rooms and the time or year she had units available for.

I am truly sorry if she made any comments that were not appropriate or made you or your boyfriend feel uncomfortable in any way. We will also be meeting with her to discuss her approach.
Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss this of if you need any additional information.

Great hotel close to everything! We went tubing at Cranmore and it was right across the street. The hotel was very clean, we stayed at the Whittaker Suites in the back of the resort. We had a full kitchen which was great with 3 kids and a queen bed and pull out sofa, this was perfect for a weekend! Fireplace and balcony are an added touch as was the spa tub my kids wouldn't get out of! The pool was wonderful as was The Flatbread company being right at the resort! I would definitely stay here again!! Thanks again for the Champagne and fruit and cheese in my room upon arrival!! That made my night!
