This was our second time staying at this charming resort. Two years ago we stayed for a few days in the fall. This time, we headed up for a mini-getaway weekend. We were so pleased to see that the food quality remains very high, the hotel desk staff are attentive and knowledgable and friendly, housekeeping is great, and the maintenance/facilities team are taking care of the place. What this place offers is a heated outdoor jacuzzi/hot tub and heated pool and fabulous firepit. They do great job keeping those waters clean, warm and inviting. Is there anything better than soaking in the hot tub while catching snowflakes on your tongue??!! The meals are wonderful and bountiful. Get a meal package for a great value and convenience because you'll need to drive into north conway downtown for restaurants. This visit we stayed in the Presidential Suite. It offers great views of Attatash, the woodlands and mountain range. The suite itself is a generous size, but the furnishings could use some updating or refreshening. For example, there was hardly any artwork on the walls, some of the furniture had seen better days, the bathroom was pretty sparse ( no jacuzzi tub either, unlike their suites), and the sofa had no throw pillows ( we grabbed extra bed pillows from the closet). That said, the four poster bed and linens are amazing, the room was spotlessly clean and very spacious. You can't beat the view put of the three huge windows.
Kudos to the hardworking folks there. If you get a chance to have dinner in the restaurant or Sunday brunch, do it ! We had the most amazing surf & turf followed by a heavenly Gingerbread & Maple Gelato with one the best little cookies ever ( share the recipe, please!!). There's also a tavern/pub side, too. And unlike the Mount Washington Hotel , the dining room dinner dress code is less formal ( jackets and toes are not required on men-- just collared shirts).
We're loyal fans--- and we will be back soon! A good value! And the clientele ranged from seniors to young families with small kids to middle age couples, a great mix!
