“Tranquil setting”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

We had a good time at the White mountains hotel. The setting is fantastic and the staff were generally helpful. The room we had was slightly noisy but not so bad we couldn't sleep. I'd also say that the rooms could do with a bit of modernisation, but they were comfortable and clean.

Booked a stay at the hotel to attend a destination wedding in the area. Required to book for a two night stay. Found the facility very tired and in need of a spruce up. Arrived at 1 PM for checking and were turned away until after 3PM. When checked in they had made a mistake on my reservation and I had to accept sup-par room because they were sold out for wedding reception. Manager very non-responsive and uninterested in my situation. Two night stay in Resort Hotel (?) an ordeal versus pleasant experience. You can do better for less than this place.

I am very sorry to read that you were disappointed in the room type you received, although
It was the room type that you booked on line. Unfortunately because we were in a sold-out situation on the weekend that you stayed with us, we were unable to move you to a different room.
I can assure you that Customer Service is always our top priority, and I do hope to have the
Opportunity to prove this to you in the future. If you should need to discuss this further, please feel free to call me personally. Regards, Carol Sullivan

We recently celebrated our daughter's wedding at the resort. From the moment we checked in through the morning we checked out, the staff provided extraordinary service. Every detail of our celebration was cheerfully attended to. The rooms were wonderful; the bridal suite magnificent. The scenic location of the resort provided an excellent venue for our outdoor ceremony. Hors d' oeuvres and dinner were delicious and elegantly served in the tavern and panoramic dining room. The pool and hot tub provided early relaxation and a fun-filled, late-night pool party to close down our celebration. The wedding weekend was everything we had hoped for and more.

We enjoyed a five course seafood dinner at The Ledges, a special night out in the White Mountains. The hotel was full so we stayed at another location. But the meal, the ambiance, the service and the management were outstanding at The Ledges. We could not finish our meal, so maybe our eyes were bigger than our appetites. We will definitely stay at the hotel in the future and return to The Ledges for our meals. Superb quality.

Room Tip: The suites would be the most enjoyable, so check them out.

We were looking for a nice Sunday brunch up in Conway were we could eat drink and relax. This brunch fit the bill. From the friendly staff to the food, the whole experience was wonderful! Everything on the buffet was fresh, bloody Marys were awesome. Our waiter, Chris and his father were very personable that we felt very welcomed.

The piano music set a calm and peaceful atmosphere. Overall, well worth the extra money for a top notch brunch. Very pleased.

Booked a last min getaway with husband and 5 yr old.
Arrived about 4pm and headed straight to pool, as my son was super excited to swim.
In short, it was disgusting! At first glance there was an overabundance of debris floating in the water. I went and asked someone to skim it, and in all fairness, someone did come right out and do it. It was only part of the problem. When we got it it became clear that the pool was in completley horrible shape. The liner was lifting up and almost floating to surface in some areas. It was really really run down and just gross. So much for relaxing by the pool area. It was a major dissapointment. Sat we went off on some fun excursions and came home and watched an hour of tv inside the room before dinner as opposed to enjoying the pool area.
Which brings me to the room. Our first night we were in a room above the kitchen. It was last minute booked and the woman i spoke with on the phone told me it was the last toom avail and warned me there was a "slight humming noise from kitchen fan which most people didnt even notice and was turned off at 9:00pm". It sounded more like a jet engine taking off, and was on until 11:00pm and was turned back on at 5:59am. Needless to say the first night was a nightmare. This was the same woman who told me the pool area was "nice" and "updated recently".
Called front desk and the said they would give us a 10 perc disc and i said it should be more and we would have to leave. They then offered a 20 perc disc and agreed to move our room. So we are here now just waiting to head to supper and hoping tonight is a more pleasant exp.
and the entire place smells like garlic not in a good way.
overall would not return in a million years. Full
Renovation is needed.

Thank you for taking the time to review & I am sorry you didn't enjoy the pool or you room on the first night of your stay. I am pleased that your guest room was moved and upgraded for you complimentary on your second night, and I do hope that room was satisfactory.

I am sorry you didn't enjoy the pool. I can assure you that our maintenance staff follows all regulations for pool cleaning and maintenance as required by the state. The pool & pool area are checked several times throughout the day during routine maintenance checks, and our Assistant GM personally checked the pool on the day you were there. I agree there are pine trees on our property and when the wind blows, the needles can blow into the pool. We do our utmost to keep the pool skimmed.

I truly do hope you enjoyed the remainder if your stay, and hope to have you as our guest in the future.

Because we have a family of five, we stayed in one of the suites. It was was plenty big enough and was very nice. The kids loved the heated pool and hot tub and my husband and I loved the poolside drinks and food service. The scenery is beautiful and there is plenty of hiking and shopping close by. Would definitely come back to stay again.
