Owner description: Highway 112, or the Kanc, runs from Center Conway to North Woodstock, just south of Franconia Notch. Passing through the White Mountain National Forest, it is considered one of the most scenic highways in the U.S. and offers a number of interesting stopping off points.

“Don't just drive it ... experience it!”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Established in 1959, the 34-mile Kancamagus Highway (NH Route 112) stretches across the White Mountains from Lincoln to Conway. Don’t just drive it … experience it! Stop to enjoy the outstanding views of mountains, forests, and waterfalls. Pemigewasset (Pemi) Overlook is a popular spot offering a pavilion at the edge of the overlook. During our visit, the misty rain gave the mountains a "smoky" layered look. The highway crests the pass at 2,855' elevation. It is an easy 10-15 minute hike to Sabbaday Falls. The sound of a rushing creek parallels the trail. The falls are really a series of three drops (totaling 45’). Climb the stairs for different views of the waterfalls. Rocky Gorge Scenic Area is a lovely spot. Walk to the far end of the footbridge that crosses the river for a view of a small waterfall (10' high). The Lower Falls of the Swift River is not really a waterfall but a cascade with about a 10’ drop. This stretch of the river is very popular for swimming. The Albany Covered Bridge (1858 renovated in 1971) is not too far from Conway. This is worth the time ...

“Scenic, fun, and our perfect Engagment spot”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

The kanc is a must do when up in the area! It runs along the Swift river and winds into the mountains. There are a ton of scenic look outs and stops for hiking and swimming along the way! The Lincoln Woods trails have a suspension bridge, a lovely hike and where my Husband and I were engaged! The Champney Brook trail is also incredibly beautiful, with a couple different waterfalls and unbelievable views!
