Our visit was in January so we were not sure how the road would be. We stopped at the ranger station at the beginning of the Kangamangus on the North Conway side and were told the road was passable. Feeling excited we were off and were definitely not disappointed. The road was plowed well, a little bumpy in spots but okay. Most of the areas to pull off had been plowed, we did have to climb a few snow banks to get to the scenic views but it was definitely worth it. Each season is so different and so worth seeing these amazing views. During the winter it can be slippery on the trails but good hiking boots worked well for us.
