“A Must for leaf-peepers”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

And for hikers and bikers. We saw and met some of them while doing the loop of Kancamagus Hwy. Went up there to see the foliage and we were not dispappointed. Definitely do the loop to see foliage, you'll pass through some tourist-trap towns, and yes you can also experience some grid-lock. The highway takes you to some beautiful areas of the White Mountains to see foliage, some incredible views, several state-parks, a couple of grand historic resorts and post-card like scenes.

This is a drive that is not to be missed... rain or shine. The views are spectacular and plenty of places to walk if you need to stretch your legs.

“beautiful views”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

The views on this highway are spectacular. Many pull off stops for viewing or photo shoots. The are hiking trails and before you take the Kancamagus Highway there is a beautiful covered bridge called the Albany bridge, a great photo opportunity.

“A beautiful drive”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

We drove the highway twice -- from N. Woodstock to N.Conway in the rain and drizzle, then the next day, from N. Conway to N. Woodstock in brilliant sunshine. Naturally we preferred Day #2, but even in the rain, the foliage was gorgeous. I came home with well over 80 photos, most from stops along the Highway. You can cover the Highway in under two hours, or you can take some of the hikes of varying lengths and take the entire day. Or several days. I heeded the warning of other reviewers and didn't even attempt to use the restrooms, and I saw a number of other women step into them and step out again within the space of a few seconds. That was the only drawback. We would definitely recommend this route.
