“Pleasant surprise!”
Reviewed June 11, 2012

Wow, my brother in Durham reccomended this place and he was spot on. We had 9 people in our party every single one of had an amazing breakfast. Very creative, original and made from scratch items. The staff and service was also excellent and very attentive. A very young hip staff made us want to return very soon for another fabulous breakfast.

“Almost as unique as the town that it's in!”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

The servers at the Big Bean seem to resonate the ideology; ecclectic, friendly, and kind of quirky---but that's why we like Newmarket. Most recent visit the sepcials were named after different characters on the Smurfs...including Garamel. Bottomless coffees in their hand-me-down mix of mugs and awesome espresso. The owner Jack was a staple server/bartender ages ago at the Riverworks down the street, and he's brought the hospitality with him when he and at least one partner bought out the Big Bean from it's former owner. I was skeptical at first, but now my husband wouldn't consider a visit to the states complete without a visit here....what other menu has veggie chorizo and alfalfa sprouts on a regular basis?!

“Our Fav Newmarket Restaurant!”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

This place is FANTASTIC - can't say enough about it. Check their Facebook page for the current specials. You can call and place an order for pickup - it's usually reading in 10-15 minutes. Seating can sometimes be an issue, as this is a tiny little gem... but WELL worth the wait!! There is a blackboard on the left wall when you walk in the door with specials that are always available, too (just not on the main menu).

Food is all great - we've never had something bad here - eggs, sandwiches, coffee/tea - it's fantastic. You can upgrade any order for a little extra and get a bowl of fruit instead of "home fries" that typically come with the breakfast food.

Pet friendly seating can be found outdoors in the warmer months - and our waiter ALWAYS brings out a much appreciated bowl of water for our pups.

The ONLY BAD thing I can say about this place, is that during the week it closes at 2. Can't say how many times it's been 3 or 4 and I've driven past wishing it was still open!!
