I visited Shogun twice on week nights for sushi at the bar, and take out. It was fabulous. The raw oysters were the freshest I've ever had, same for the sushi. A duck and asparagus entre was delicious and perfectly prepared. Pad Thai was so-so but then pad Thai is an individual thing, it's made so many different ways. The atmosphere and decor are beautiful and they had just added new Tatami rooms so I brought the family for a Saturday night birthday celebration. On that visit, the oysters were terrible, not at all fresh, and the sushi was not outstanding at all. Pad Thai was again so-so and the hibachi dinner - served from the kitchen not the hibachi - was just ok. All and all, the family was not terribly impressed, and the service in the new Tatami room was a bit "experimental". We would go back but sit in the hibachi room, and I will definitely stop for sushi, but the big family celebration was a bit of a disappointment.
